Amazing how a RC helicopter clearly shows its not the engine that makes so much noice, its a electric motor, but its the blades that create most of the helicopter sound. Truly amazing replica of the airwolf :)

I think what were also hearing, besides the rotor blades, is the gearing. Check around 1:28, you'll see some massive straight-toothed gearing wheels. With an 8kW motor, they need to be massive, but you'll definitely hear them scream at that kind of power.

Years ago when I was wearing young mans clothes, I'm 58 now i asked a helicopter pilot why they were so loud. He told me it was the propeller breaking the sound barrier. Beautiful helicopter by the way 👏👏👍👍

The thing that amazes me, is the fact that this extraordinary model has to break down for transport. Thus making it a much more complex build! Beautifully done though. The lady flies again!!

As a young boy, I often dreamt of having an R/C Airwolf with advanced FPV camera technology that I could fly around my neighborhood. Such things did not yet exist back then.

This is incredible, the most lifelike relica of Airwolf I've ever seen! What a job you did to this sir, you should be very proud! I'm sure String & Dom are smiling down from heaven, thank you for this

So cool that someone built that big of an Airwolf remote control! I was always upset as a kid how they took that show down. Was something amazing and ended up being cut, re-used scenes of previous years. This was my favorite show as a kid, I was like 7 or so when it came out. Glad to see some out there still carrying Airwolf torch! Would love to see someone make a game out of it but nobody has ever finished one. That Airwolf is something else, some top notch work there, hats off!

i didnt get to watch the show cause it was always aired after 10 where i live. then i saw the rc at a shop which at the time cost almost 10 grand. i am in my 40s now and the closest thing i have that even resembles airwolf is a small drone copter that i bought🤣and it looks nothing like a airwolf 😅. i wish to thank my parents maybe if they have just let me watch airwolf i might actually have turn out different 🙄🙃

As an 80s kid, this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen! Airwolf was one of my fave shows, together with Dukes of Hazzard and Knight Rider. I love this! Makes me want to get into the RC hobby as well :) Now fire up a RC Huey and have an aerial dog fight!

Wow, this is like a childhood dream of mine. I remember watching airwolf with my parents on prime time. I loved that show and the star of course!

Anyone else thinking it's ALMOST perfect. But what it needs is a Bluetooth speaker with the theme music playing at full volume.

Loved that the rotors did the "Huey Chop" when changing pitch. Would love to see it with a turbine for the full effect. Beautiful model hands down

Growing up I watched Airwolf on TV. As an adult I flew this helicopter for a long time. Who would have thought.

Epic model , exceptional scale piloting deserving of the round of applause it received .

At the beginning of the vid, I expected it to be turbine powered. It astounded me when I saw it was electric in that size. I have a 500 size Air wolf that is identical. I will fly it inverted but love scale flying. I can't imagine how nervous I'd be flying that beautiful machine. I'm so jealous. Thank you so much for sharing this video.👍✌😎

@@m.v5792 I was once given wise words by an old scrooge McDuckonion. If you have to ask, you can't afford it. These are big boy toys where cost is never a factor in the equation. Gotta pay to play. But, cost is only a box of otherwise useless components. This is a love and demanding hobby. The real costs are in the unrecoverable hours upon months of highly technical building, testing, testing, testing, testing lol to answer your question there is no option to just purchase a ready to go bird. It's a pursuit of each required kit, module, component, controller until the sum of the whole bears the name of the craft in the video. Given you lack the most basic of this concept, I'd start around level 1 of beginner's guide, rather then the final chapter of the master's guide. If I was to bet on the real motive of your question, given the clunky overcompensating avatar of a handful of money....I can state with a high degree of certainty seeing you have asked this same question repeatedly.....this too is a projecting look at me guys.

I remember seeing the real R/C Helicopter used in Airwolf back in the 80's on display inside Merv Griffin's Casino in Atlantic City. It was in a glass display case, it had to be around 4ft long. I thought that was awesome, this is unbelievable.

Huh? In the TV show they used the real helicopter not an RC model. The flight-capable Airwolf helicopter was a cosmetically modified Bell 222, serial number 47085, sometimes unofficially called a Bell 222A. During filming of the series, the helicopter was owned by Jetcopters, Inc. of Van Nuys, California. The helicopter was eventually sold after the show ended and became an ambulance helicopter in Germany, where it crashed in a thunderstorm and was destroyed on June 6, 1992, killing all three crew members

If you saw that helo fly by and you didnt know it was RC and it was at the right altitude, you would think its a full size helo. This is the kind of thing you film movie action sequences with. And its definitely every 90s kids dream. Imagine taking that to show and tell.

Neat feat of engineering right there. I wish my late father, who used to build his own RC airplanes from scratch since he was 10, could see this video.

Airwolf and Blue Thunder for us 80's kids. This was really cool.

I think I was into voltron and thundercats then, just surpassed JI Joe days maybe. I grew up on Navy bases though, so I used to build models of Blue Angels at the time. I definitely grew up in the south and used to call the rebel flag the yeehaa flag as a kid lol.

Me too then I grew up and realized there's no way in the world that two guys could have maintained & kept running such an advanced weapons system all on their own with no institutional backing all the while trying to keep it hidden from the government. As a kid that's a non-issue as an adult it's a suspension of disbelief I just can't do anymore.

Recognized it from one of my favorite TV shows 40 years ago, I was about 11.

Love watching that TV series when I was a teenage back in the 90s. Watching it here on youtube brings many good memories in my teen years. A true to life RC heli.

This thing's amazing work of engineering. I got scared when the prop started spinning up and it started shaking like it was out of balance but it calmed down. On a side note I can't be the only one having Airsoft fantasies with this thing and actual electric gun pods and a go-pro camera.

Maravilloso y asombroso!! Imagino el derroche de horas volcadas en ese proyecto, pero el verlo volar y evolucionar; alimenta el espíritu. Me resulta increíble, que semejante estructura, se eleve y vuele con un solo motor. Excelente! Yo, visto el despliegue de medios, habría incluido un cofre de fibra de carbono, para alojar esas “bombas “ Lipo, ya que al ir en la proa de la nave, están expuestas y son de muy fácil ignición. Poniendo en peligro, todo el proyecto. Enhorabuena por su buen trabajo!

Lo siento Carlos, tendría que visionar de nuevo el vídeo, pero supongo que el maestro que ha hecho semejante maravilla; gustoso te lo contará! De todas formas, sabes que las turbinas de combustible son bastante tragonas, pero teniendo en cuenta el empuje del motor, seguro que puede llevar en la panza, dos o tres litros de combustible, osea 20 o 30 minutos de vuelo, que es mucho. As soon as it took off and hearing the whirl of the rotors, my mind started playing the Airwolf theme. What an impressive piece of machinery right there and thank you so much for posting this. Best RC hands down.

That's is awesome. The cost of that thing probably cost as much as a real one. But it's pretty dope hobby.

Yeah, It's an "in-cre-dee-ble machine" especially when you look closer: In the TV series: - Merely 1/3 (or less) scenes was filmed during real flight, rest of them was staged / post processed - Machine guns and missiles were fake because there is no room to pack up so much ammo which also weights a lot - Jet thrusters deffinitely could not be real because it contradicts the laws of physics / no room for extra fuel - Even customized or modded Bell 222 could NEVER be "that" quiet as it is shown in the series After the series has been finished: - So called "weapons systems" was removed and the Airwolf has been sold to HEMS for a pittance - During one of it's HEMS flights Airwolf crashed because of both - Aircraft damage (that they didn't noticed) and pilot error - And to think that in early 90s I deliberatly threw away new bicycle and saved money to buy a VCR to record that piece of crap👎

Beyond cool...as somebody else commented, the landing gear retraction is a proper "woah, cool" moment. Loved that, thank you!

Gorgeous model. Love seeing the internal mechanisms and craftsmanship. Feels a tad underpowered though. Might consider retrofitting to actual turbines.

Wow,How KOOL!! Best Looking Helicopter Ever Made! IMO

Absolutely awesome ! I remember watching that show as a kid , this brings back alot of memories, this is the coolest RC helicopter ive ever seen by far !

I like the pretend rivets. Such a nice touch! As a prior UH-60 Black Hawk repairer, seeing these guys put that little bird together took me back to my time in the U.S. Army (2000-2006). No other video has triggered my memories and feelings. I'm a bit choked up. Must be the size of that thing, ha-ha.

Who else is humming the theme while watching this fly around...hahaha

I got into model Aircraft around 8 years old, an onset from toy soldiers, hung them up on the ceiling with fishing line, I'm never content with any one thing, even with collecting. However Aircraft are my passion even this late of my life and I just love 2nd WW really with the sound from the engines, just really love them and brings me down to Earth, just where these men of past get their ideas from??? Great people they are and what a buzz it must be flying these Aircraft, well done guys an girls.

We speak different languages but we both love Airwolf!

I remember watching Airwolf when it use to come on TV back in the 80’s. I love this helicopter and I still want my own personal Airwolf even to this day.

RC planes are cool but it’s just something extra awesome about an RC helicopter.. 👍🏼🤘🏼✌🏼
