World's Largest Mobile Crusher

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Graniterock's 900 ton Krupp crusher working in their A.R. Wilson quarry. The gyratory crusher has an output of 3200 tons per hour and is said to be the largest self propelled rubber wheel crusher in the world. It requires two 100 tonne Cat 992 wheel loaders to feed it simultaneously. Read the story on it in the next issue of the magazine.

Lots of double and treble material handling....the more times you pick it up to move it, the more expensive the final product.

That gyratory may be rated at 3200t/hr, but those 2 loaders can't provide that. At 25 ton capacity, each has to make 64 dumps per hour. Each cycle has to be less than a minute. Although 992 is rated for only 21.5 ton, with material bucket, it can do 25 ton. So, why have a higher capacity crusher (more $$$) than you can feed

From my experience with smaller crushers that is the efficient way to do it. Over loading a crusher is not good especially if you have to take time to unclog it but the material I'm use to is not nearly as clean as this..

Hard to tell, maybe they usely process harder to process material and they use 3 loaders, but today one was out of service. The gyrator looks pretty old maybe it was a cheap used machine or they have slowed down there mining process. Could be alot of reason, why they operate this way.

@@davidgibson8174 Yeah David crushers work more efficiently of they are choked maybe move the crusher closer to the material will speed up the cycle times of the loaders also teach the operators how to load the bucket you need to lift the loader arms as you tilt the bucket puts weight on the front tyres stops wheel spin load heaps quicker and chocka full bucket

The largest self propelled crusher was actually in San Antonio Texas located at Martin Marietta’s beckman plant. It was an O&K It was propelled just like a walking dragline. It was feed by a fleet of 777 cat haul trucks. They would dump 2 at a time into the apron feeder.

At Fresh Kills Landfill. We used to have our own Rock Crusher Plant. We fed it with clean building debris, concrete, and bolders that contractors wanted to get rid of. It crushed the material and had a magnet to remove rebar and other ferrous debris. The 'shaker' had 3 conveyor belts. Dividing the crushed material into 3 sizes of material, large stone (5-7 inch), small stone (2-3 inch), and screening (sand). This machine could not ingest asphalt asphalt. (gums up the works) We used the material from the crusher to build access roads for the Payhaulers. Our wheel scrapers worked out of the Rock Crusher to deliver stone or screenings where needed. The Crusher was fed by 966 or Trojan 4500. Since it was a day only operation. We fed it 'only' 300 buckets a day. The rest of the time used for cleaning and maintenance. After the Dump was closed. The City still ran the Rock Crusher, But after a bearing spun, they sold it.
