Cranes have reached the point where it's hard to even describe 'size'. My new word is 'Ginormous'... Gigantic and Enormous together in record breaking capacities. When a crane uses several thousand tons of counterweights, you know it's a giant crane with huge lifting capacities. It never gets boring keeping up with the latest and greatest. Just subscribed.

I’m not familiar with the last crane’s manufacture, but Manitowocs are a main stay of heavy construction here’s in the eastern USA. They alway work flawlessly.

Now if the manitowoc and the liebherr both ran dual lattice booms and hooks, I'm sure they would also double their capacity or close to. Thus making the manitowoc and leibherr at the top 2. All are super powerful cranes but at least keep them in the same categories relatively... a single boom even with the p boom on leibherr makes a significant difference from the double

Need to get your stats correct, 31000 has a max main boom length of 486ft, a max luffing jib length of 374ft and a max fixed jib length of 137ft, max boom/luffing jib length of 686ft. Also max capacity is 2535 tons, 2300 metric tons

@@chan27 no biggie, I just saw it said 137ft of jib, I was like, I know it gets alot longer jib than that, cause it's setup right now with 295ft of luffing jib and 196ft of main boom. I knew the fixed jib was short. And I wasn't sure if you meant metric tons or us tons. Maybe try and clarify the differences next time like fixed jib or luffing jib, and metric or us. Nice video though

👉 They only build these gigantic cranes because I can't personally show up to every major construction site to lift their heavy loads manually. I just can't be everywhere at once! If I could, then there'd be NO need for any of these cranes.... 😁
