World's LARGEST Coconut CRAB {Catch Clean Cook} Asuncion Island, CNMI
Ойын-сауық
These truly are the largest Coconut Crabs in the world! The CNMI and it's government have done an amazing job protecting these crabs so that they can be harvested in a sustainable manner! Huge Shout out to Jun for taking us on such an amazing Crab Hunt!!! To anybody wondering or concerned, all the crabs seen in this video were released, unharmed. We had permits to take Coconut Crab on the Island of Pagan, but instead, the Crab I cooked was previously captured on the island of Rota, Froze and then I cooked it once I needed it back on Saipan. The reason for filming this video was to educate the public on the amazing resources located on the northern Islands of the CNMI!
If you are interested in knowing more about the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) Please visit the
MVA (Mariana Visitors Authority) www.mymarianas.com
We have been staying at the Kensington Hotel on Saipan. To say it's AMAZING is an understatement! www.kensingtonsaipan.com/kr/

Stephen, I say this as a cancer fighter of almost 14 years: DON'T give up. Medical miracles are happening almost daily. I don't know what your medical issue is, but there's someone working on it, somewhere, right now. If you can keep your mind healthy (and I KNOW how hard that can be!) your body will try to follow. If you follow Rob you know he believes in Jesus Christ. It's up to you to look into that or not, as you work your way through these issues. I've been fighting terminal cancer for 14 years in September. It's not been fun, but I've learned a lot. Keep learning, keep fighting, keep looking for the answers. I'm lucky enough to have been blessed with a wife that actually believes in "till death do us part". I hope and pray your family is able to help where needed. Hey, maybe one of these days you can teach me how to fish... all I can manage to do is drown a bunch of poor worms. At least I can say "no fish were harmed"!!! God bless, my brother.

Tony Bourdain admitted that many scenes are staged and that he found it tiresome and artificial. Like when you see the host go in to a tavern to say hello to someone behind the bar, and the shot is from over the shoulder of the bartender. Obviously the camera got there before the host, and it's been set-up in advance if not actually rehearsed. It's not always too bad, but a lot of people don't realize how completely common this is. Then again, some people believe "reality TV" and Jerry Springer type shows aren't set-up and WWF matches are real fights, so ....

Thanks for the great nighttime footage of the island Asuncion. I was in Guam from 90 - 93, I was taught a simple method for trapping the coconut crab. Drill a hole in the more pointed end of the whole coconut, husk and all, and thread a rope through the hole, and knot the rope, then tie the rope to a tree at the top of the cliff by the ocean, and throw the coconut over the edge of the cliff. Check back the next morning, you will probably have a crab holding on tightly and trying to drag the coconut back to their den. I was successful, and the crab meat and the crab fat with peppers and garlic and onions and little butter was really great also.
I love watching your contents. It’s like I’m part of your crew when you go places and eat stuff we can’t find in groceries! Big fan here from the Philippines.

Well yeah you take a creature isolate it and give it an abundance of its food source ofc it’s gonna adapt and get bigger or smaller depends on what food supply you give it, it’s called natural selection

You have a very good point!!!!!!! When I was young on tour in Philippines. A PLACE not far from Manila.,i almost shit my pants a coconut crab was on a tree and it had a huge arm .my guides laughed at me . But it was delious
“Once we find one, I’ll let you know what we’re looking for.” Wise words. 🤓 Shout our from Baltimore, home of Old Bay!
I can just imagine how sweet and good the meat would be of a crab that just eats coconuts. That sounds amazing.

Lol 😂 these eat Red Crabs all the time
Great post. Thanks for taking us with you 👍
Always interesting to see how indigenous populations make animal calls. Sometimes they are the same on opposite sides of the world. Fascinating. Love the colors on all of those Crabs. Even the deep blues and purples on those coconut Crabs. Also, sick fade, Rob!
We have these on our island. They are a delicacy on our island. The largest ever I've seen was around 7.2kg or 15.87lb. Very tasty 🤙 My home is Niue in the south Pacific

Good day , do you have contacts involving COCONUT crabs on your island?
Thank you for the experience I may never get to go on. The scenery from the balcony was beautiful ❤❤❤
Yessirrrrr🔥 As a man who crabs out of the bay itself, I thank you for paying respects to the best seasoning known to man
Oh man, seeing you share some of that grub with some of the staff warmed my heart 😭❤
Thanks for sharing your once in a lifetime experience. Although we live here in the Marianas, some of us have never been this close to the islands. Definitely always awesome watching your vids. Best shotgun view ever. You are doing amazing things sharing it with your family and most especially the world about the beauty of our islands. Thank you and stay blessed brother. Enjoy your awesome journey in the beautiful CNMI 🇲🇵 ❤🙏
