We ventured to Intercourse, PA on Thursday for a day trip. We went to Barry's Car Barn then to the Kitchen Kettle Village. We ate lunch at the Windmill Family Restaurant. We tried some shoo-fly pie at your suggestion. It was a great local treat. Thanks! 😊 P.s. We have passed this and didnt realize it was a museum.

Smorgasbords are of Norweigan origin. When I was a teenager in the 1960s, I remember going with my family to a famous authentic smorgasbord, the Kungsholm, in Chicago. The food was delicious and different, not your typical Southern-style cooking. The weightlifters' museum was fascinating, and so was Ollie's Bargain outlet. Thanks for taking us along. Also, that meal looked delicious.

As a traditional Easter side, my Mom always made beets and hard-boiled eggs together in a canister turning the eggs that purple color, called "pickled eggs and beets." The beet juice also included additional sugar and vinegar. She was from PA. Dipping the eggs in some extra juice made for a flavorful, filling and healthy snack.

Yes! Shady Maple is the best. Excellent quality and kept very clean considering the hundreds and hundreds of people who show up there every day. Try the breakfast buffet some time, and check out the huge gift shop downstairs. Pickled eggs used to be an old timey bar (tavern) food. They would keep them in a big glass jar. If you buy pickled beets at the store just add a few hardboiled eggs (with shell removed) to the beets and juice and put in a container in the refrigerator overnight ( at least) to let the egg absorb the pickling flavor and turn the eggs red.

20:30 That center picture is actually of Richard K Fox: "Fox also popularized the presentation of title belts. Prior to the July 8, 1889 fight between Sullivan and Jake Kilrain, another bout he backed, Fox presented Kilrain with a lavish belt made from 200 ounces of solid silver and decorated with diamond-studs and gold ornaments. In the name of the Police Gazette, he issued belts to champions in various weight classes." It's possible that's Warren Lincoln Travis on the right, but I couldn't find any pictures of him with a mustache. There are some really cool pictures if you search Jake Kilrain. Video reminded me how much I like your niche locations from watching your videos years ago 🥂

Ollie’s is where action figures go to die. They are based in Harrisburg. The barbell dude on the York Barbell sign used to spin slowly. You also have to love the irony…barbells and fitness right to the smorgasbord (which is indeed excellent).
