WORLD'S FIRST AWD Octavia VRS 245 Stage 3! 420 BHP, 580 Nm, Garrett Turbo Monster! | AutoCulture
As we all know, the Octavia VRS is India's premier tuning car. The amount of videos we have done on the Octavia VRS, especially the MK3.5 is just absurd, yet somehow, someone manages to do something totally unique and we have to go and cover it. Such is this car, this is the World's first Octavia VRS 245 which has been converted to All Wheel Drive using a Haldex AWD system and is running a Stage 3 configuration. It now makes a wild, 420 bhp along with 580 Nm of torque which is being sent to all 4 wheels and that allows it to have a sub 4.5 second 0-100 kmph time which is absolutely ridiculous. Certainly not the first in the world ! There was a Russian guy or maybe from Czech who did a AWD back in 2018-19. You can claim it as first in India though !

Whaaaattt! Are you serious mate? Ofcourse the Haldex system is more effective than a standard FWD setup! It is still an AWD system, the only thing is it's FWD biased but it will still send 50% of the power to the rear whenever it senses loss of traction! This thing will easily run in the high 11s in the quarter mile!

No you can not, 440 bhp to the front wheels, is ridiculous. Stickier tyres can only do so much. AWD is a different level of grip.

@@TheDriversHub agree, awd where you can send 70% of the power during launch will help a lot since you load up the rear, however I’m keen to see the difference between the time a 400hp fwd can do vs a haldex awd. I just feel it’s a lot of money for an awd system that still understeers like hell, like it did in the vr6 superb.

In Europe they sell AWD Škoda Octavia vRS. Infact almost every car in Europe has a AWD system. It’s not even the first AWD Octavia in India. The AWD system can be imported from Europe, Infact there are some Škoda which are made AWD using the drive train of Škoda Yeti.

Hello! Yes you are correct, there are vRS' in Europe with AWD systems. But those are diesel cars, not petrol. In the whole VWAG family, the cheapest way to get a petrol "performance" car, is via the Golf R or Audi S3. About the second part, we're pretty positive that India's first AWD converted VRS230 has been done by Nik Trans Motorsport and the World's first VRS245 has been done by Mechanix Automotive and Etuners India.

Euro spec skoda Octavia already comes with awd man and you can simply swap the drive system from skoda yeti that comes with tdi engine but similar gear box and awd.. why making it as a new design 🤔

Because diesel gearboxes, transfer cases, AWD systems aren't compatible with petrol ones. Moreover, the ECU will go haywire if it's not calibrated with the gearbox and AWD system properly and that's near to impossible with a diesel one. So you have to source a petrol one and still the work is only half done.

@@TheDriversHub I am not complaining man .. just giving the facts I know coz im a skoda user. Diesel engine gear box can handle more torque on its factory tuning.. so the tsi engine can easily stand upto stage 2 performance.. at some point its going to break but you guys will do some modifications for that ... so it's possible but take some time and R&D .. or you can simple ship euro spec awd gear box and ecu from some salvage shop from any European countries
great mod...but one thing I wonder why Indian cars' engine bay is always dirty including silencer tip
