I don't think Leynea is crazy at all, I think she's absolutely lovely. She has saved 21,000 cats, and before she's done she'll probably have saved 70,000. Cat House on the Kings is one of the nicest no kill shelters I've ever seen, and all of its residents appear to be in remarkably good condition. Good job, Leynea! ❤️

Cats On Kings Hill is a fantastic shelter-sanctuary. I live in California, and have known about this place for over a decade. Although she has funded it for many years, it is a non-profit and happily accepts monetary donations. They do phenomenal work there. 100% of the donations go to animal care and maintenance. Thank you, Bondi Vet, for sharing this humble woman's efforts with the rest of the world.

Right there with you, home with Covid. Paw prayers from all our critters.

I've known about this woman for so long. I watched a KZread video on her YEARS back. She has I think over 2000 acres of land. Eventually her house got overrun by the cats so she let them have it and moved into a trailer on the property (cats still 'live' with her each night in there but it's a more manageable amount) There are a ridiculous number of feeding and watering stations ALL over the property and she has volunteers that help her each day. I think morning and night those stations are checked and water is refilled/cleaned. The fences are very tall and they all have an inward overhang and aren't close to trees so that the cats can't get out. Lynea is truely amazing and what she does is even more amazing. Hopefully she has something set up for them when she can't do this anymore.

with the amount of planning that goes on to create and maintain such a sanctuary i m pretty sure she has set up a will and secured funds to run this incredible place..

My mother wouldn't let me have a cat (or any other pet) either. First thing I did when I left home and got my own place was get a cat. i currently have 10 cats (8 of them rescues). The most I've had at any one time was 13, 11 of my own and 2 fosters. All my cats are spayed and neutered and all are indoor cats. Ages range from 21 years to the youngest 4 who are 3 years old. The last 4 were "failed fosters".

What an amazing woman and how wonderful that place looks! So many cats and they all seem well taken care of. I have seen breeders with between 15-30 cats that looked much worse and as well as their homing in a filthy state and to think that with 1000 cats it can be clean, just wonderful to see!

Well yah. They’re breeders. They force them to breed as much as possible, without any time to heal at that, sometimes using medieval barbaric torture devices, and then when they can’t anymore, dump them at high-kill shelters… and also sell them to pet shops… meanwhile countless get killed in shelters

There is a difference with a hobby breeder or a breeder for money, the latter or what you call is more like a kitten-mill and do it for money. But I have seen it horrible at what some call hobby breeders as well... Most kitten mills have several breeds as well and indeed don't treat their cats or kittens when ill.

...that's why I love Veterinarians, they're amazing people.

Now that he's visited the Cat Lady, he should head back south to L.A. and visit the Kitten Lady. It's outstanding what some people can do with a little bit of time and love.

God bless this amazing woman. We need more people like her in the world. Im so happy to see all these great cats getting the love and care they need.

I swear if I ever go back to California I will spend a day volunteering at Cat House on the King.

1,000 🐈 cats = 8oo adults and 200 kittens. Wow! Yes, that's 1,000, alright. Well, then, I imagine she wouldn't mind some adoptions and some donations.

How many? Far, far, too many. Two rescue tabby fellows live here but that is all I can afford. So many more need shelter, safety, and love, so very many.

I live by the cat house on the kings and visited many times. They cat proofed the area. The cats donf bother leaving the area since they’re very well taken care of. It’s like an indoors outdoors if that makes sense. You should def visit to see what I mean, it’s amazing what they do for the cats.

OMG I wasn't allowed my own kitten when I was a kid and am now a TNR colony of 25 kittens and cats. Now I know why!!!!!

What I love is that she takes in The Feline HIV cats and gives then a home and love. Those cats are in a different part of the land for the other cats safety bit they have their own staff and other things. So when she takes in cats it is not just the 'normal or healthy one' but the ones that no one will want do to HIV or other health issue. Keep up the good work with all these loving cats and dogs.
