gotta love the long line of planes lining up to take off

Atlanta is very forested. I can see bits of streets and houses across the Atlanta area. The topography is really nice. I went to Atlanta four times (last time in November 2014) and I’m hoping to go back there in August 2019.😀

I was lucky enough to be in Atlanta during the Olympics in 1996. Have very fond memories of my time there. Never seen an airport like it in terms of size and traffic. Great video, thanks for sharing!

plane, plane, plane, plane, plane, plane, plane just lined up for takeoff - then another load of planes in the terminals - what a nightmare place to be a controller!!

One of my favorite parts of my trip to PAX East: flying into and out of ATL.

I love CRJ! It looks like you are closer to the ground than in an A320series! ;) Awesome takeoff! :D I would love to visit Atlanta airport!

Sure is a big airport! But I flew out of O'Hare in Chicago and that place is a regular zoo in comparison. God I love flying!

It might sound stupid but... It sounds like the second engine was started mid-runway.

ATL is my home Now and I love to fly in and out of that airport even my brother works there as a delta airlines pilot

i was talking to some pilots and some delta people and they also said atlanta airport is the busiest in the world. deltas home is Atlanta and its the only airline my wife and i will fly on, delta is the best. but when you see the size of that airport and you are rushing to get to a gate clear on the other side of the airport you learn how massive atlanta is.

This airport by itself also makes the city of Atlanta the 4th busiest airport system in the world only behind London 1# New York 2# and Tokyo 3#

London, NY, and Tokyo have multiple airports. When it comes to Airports alone it's this: Atlanta #1, L.A. #2, Chicago #3. < All of these single airports have over 100 million passengers annually.

Awesome video! One question though, what makes Atlanta the worlds busiest airport? I've looked online and the statistics are so insane with passenger and traffic volumes! I know that Delta airlines has it's headquarters there, but why does this airport have more traffic flow than say JFK, LAX or even Heathrow? I can't seem to understand why. Cheers!

Glad you liked the video so much! Atlanta's location, layout and size make it the busiest in the world! JFK has a poor runway layout and air congestion is a huge problem in NYC! LAX does not offer as many connections as ATL, nor do aircraft fly to as many destinations! Heathrow is hampered by having only 2 runways for all those heavies! These are some of the reasons! I'm sure others could highlight more!

Awesome, cheers for replying! This is handy to know, as I would never have known why haha. Those reasons make sense about those other airports, and why they are still busy but not the busiest. I just would have thought destination wise and for tourist reasons, that the other ones would be busier, but with the layout etc and the reasons you said, I can see it has the capacity and everything else to make it the busiest. Would it also be used by international and domestic travellers to stop there in transit/to catch interconnecting flights?

Beijing has surpassed Atlanta in passenger count, but not in traffic movements! Regardless, in 2013 when this video was taken, Atlanta was number one in both categories!

Heathrow used to be the busiest for International passengers but overtaken last year by Dubai.

I thought JFK was the busiest airport.
