I don't think I would've bothered with a roll cage for two reasons. 1. I makes the car lighter. 2. If I were to wreck this car I would not want to live. Like a captain going down with his ship.

Richard, Sir Frank Williams (of the formula 1 team) would not be a quadriplegic had the car he was driving had a roll cage. So there's two ways to look at it. Modern roll cages are extremely light. Rough guess on the e-type, no more than 10kgs or 25lbs. But yes, l would probably want to kill myself if l wrecked this beauty!

"If I wrecked this car I wouldn't want to live." I laughed really hard when I read that. It's not a matter of materialism... we all know we can't take it with us. But what we drive represents what we're all about. If you have a dream where you're in a car, the car represents who you are or what you are what you do and how you benefit the world or not. For me, I once had it all. I had retired at 55. Then the love of my life for 22 years traded in her angel wings for a broomstick. ( now you know why I use hey Sam Kinison avitar.) I went from what my friends called a mini Mansion to living in an old motorhome and drove an old beat-up pick up until just a few days ago when I was able to buy a nineteen-year-old S-Type Jag with only 90,000 miles on it. There's not a scratch on it, or a crack in the wood and the leather doesn't even have any checking in it. It looks brand new. It took nearly a year to save the money to buy this thing. I have to pay extra for premium gas. If I have a repair it's going to be expensive and I have to park as far away from the Walmart entrance as possible and walk just not to have somebody give me a door ding. Why do I endure all of that? Because it makes me feel normal again. Just normal. Not pretentious, just normal. I guess that's why I found your comment so well-placed. Anyhow, whether intended or not that car is like an XKE on steroids. I've had five Jags... not that that met that makes me an expert, but the XKE is the most beautiful car ever sculpted and the S-Type though totally different with its classic styling comes in second to the XKE. If I could have any car I wanted and money didn't make any difference it would be an XKE. Of course the Austin-Healey 3000 back in those days where was breathtaking as well. Okay ....That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

This car needs more attention. Hope to see it on build breakdown or jay leno garage. Down right beautiful. So serious question. This is on singer Porsche level in terms of build quality imho.

A true work of art. The E-type was one of the most beautiful cars ever built no matter crappy British engineering. This one is a true masterpiece and I can very well understand it took 8 years on and off to build. It was worth waiting for. :)

Stunning build! I cannot believe he sticks to the original brake system. These are notorious for creating all sorts of problems. The steering wheel turned out great. I usually prefer the original but this one looks legit. 👍

There is nothing quite like the curves of a classic, this is beautiful car to say the least. I think the backend and "hips" of the car is my favourite part of the bodyshape, looks so damn good.

This man, is a artists he paints with metal. That car as he's explained was built from the original jaguar blue prints, and buy the person who original work on the car's from that era and all of the body parts all made buy British craftsmanship ! , could in years to come could be come a valuable car in its own write , the question is how long !? . It's a work of art , brilliant.
