When I decided on Dubai as a destination, I knew I would be flying Qatar
I had seen so many videos on the ‘amazing’ Q Suite experience, so I wanted to try it out.
FYI.. My travel preference.. any flight over 6 hours, I fly first or business class. This flight was 14/15 hours total.
For shorter flights, economy or economy plus works just fine..IMO
I had over 140K American Airlines points ( Qatar Partner), so I thought I’d be traveling on points, but to my first disappointment, I wasn’t able to use my AA points for a business class seat only economy and only one way🤦‍♀️ ..So, I paid cash, Dubai was a bucket list trip, so I was willing to fit the bill.
Six days before takeoff.. plane change, new seat configuration, no refund for change in value, no compensation for the inconvenience and the customer service over the phone was the worst I’ve ever experienced. The rep, their manager and thier manager all had the same we can’t do anything for you. Cancel for a $1K fee, reschedule 3 days later, or deal with it. The online complaint was a joke, I received a standard automated response.
To say I was upset, would be an understatement.. Honesty, I felt hustled and scammed, but after some research I realized how common this can be when booking Qatar
Anyway.. in flight service going was pretty good, but coming back was another disappointment.
Flat champagne, limited menu ( most items were not available), they didn’t make the bed, nor check to see how the inflight experience was going. I guess they knew it was subpar.
