I miss this game, it reminds me so much of my grandpa. He used to play this game over and over and over, it was his all time favorite. He's the one that introduced me to it, and he's pretty much the one who introduced me to video games.

tough one to beat for sure! Great run love watching you at GDQ events, played D2 for 36 hours straight 5man and only made it through act 1 nightmare and you beat normal in an hour and a half, amazing. Started speedrunning this game because of you

What I've learned watching this: 1. There is a shortcut to equip potions from inventory to belt 2. You can equip your mercenary with a weapon by dropping on his portrait 3. There are map configurations where Great Marsh isn't optional 4. There are map configurations where Arreat Plateau isn't to north east from Frigid Highlands 5. You can skip the Minions of Destruction

It is very easy to missaim in these corridors. Also, I don't actually remember, but there is a possibility that the big worms stop the boulder, like some big monsters do. Combined with the fact that boulder is kept at lvl 1, maybe the risk is not worth the effort.

That's the Coif of Glory. Really all it has for this run would be 15% lite res.

how did u get the game's response rate so fast? for instance backing out and rejoining was like a blink of an eye and on my pc it takes a few seconds to load coming out and in.

Depends the area. Some areas take like 8 seconds to quit. weird d2 coding

That easy to fix. It should upscale fine. If you dont want to manually have the engine upscale you can download a mid to do it for you.

been long time couldn't find my discs so just bought the game and expansion again waiting for it to download tothis pc so I can start playing again

i need help i wanted to try pluggy for first time and im having issues,for one i cant have bnet version and pluggy both even if i do pick 2 diff install locations with diff names,it just says play every time i try to install 1.12,but ill just stick to pluggy for now the issue im most anoyyed about is THE GAMMA it doesnt work..its too dark how do i fix? im using directdraw with d2se and windowed also is there a way to get fullscreen but keep aspect?

@Marlon - you may want to try a few command line shortcuts. I recall I had to fool with it quite a bit to get it to work properly, and PlugY can be very buggy in itself. There's a few private realms out there where they've got it working, so you might want to check some of the PvPGN forums for more info.

How appropriate that a lama would make the best druid :p Congrats ! Well deserved.

I played this when I was 8 once. And the only thing that happened in my dreams was me being friends with one of those big bear lookin things in the first act.

Man... some of my best gaming memories were from this game. I don't know if many people play it nowadays besides bots, but back in the day, it was awesome. I would sneak up in the middle of the night on school nights to play, till my parents caught me and started hiding the play disk haha!

What is the benefit of a Tal and Eth rune in armor? And which would you put in a helmet? Sorry but I know almost nothing about runes. I mostly use them for weapons.

they make runewords that are really strong. So tal + eth = stealth armor which gives fcr, fhr, frw, etc. Runes in helm were just for fire resist. Leaf staf (Tir + Ral) gives fire skills for more dmg

Have you modded the game? I’m confused: how are you able to survive these areas at lower levels? Without a merc? Also what system are you running this on? I keep it on my old Windows 7 laptop (with 8GB RAM) because it was a pain to get it to work and i do not want to try again on my newer PC.... but it runs so laggy for a while. Yours runs so smoothly esp considering you’re streaming!

nope this is vanilla D2! Just running glass cannon builds and being very intentional with how I play to run fast and survive :D I'm on Windows 8. Runs great in windowed mode (and compatibility mode)

The only thing I can think of is for snap changes to movements instead of a more rounded response but its been too long and I'm not sure if that's a thing in this game since I hadent played in years.

Hello Mrlama, I have been watching for a while. I always wonder one thing. What if you "speedrun" or casually play through the game, but no exiting the game. ( so no farming areas). You would have to slow down and kill everything to get exp. would you be interested in something like this?
