BIGFOOT #18 runs a 565 c.i. Ford. I do believe it putting out around 1500 HP and 1400 ft/lbs torque, although this engine has not been put on the dyno in a while.

BIGFOOT 4x4 awesome info. I am building a 1/10 scale replica and was looking for engine type. 👍🏽
Pretty amazing how well it handles before and after landing. Suspension is real nice from how soft the landing looked. Very awesome and way to get the record!
That footage was on one of our older home movies, but it is no longer available. The magazine spread was pretty cool.
Bigfoot... King of the Monster Trucks!
Generally this keeps the front of the truck up. If the driver were to let off the throttle or even hit the brakes, the truck would nose dive. It is also done to keep the tires spinning so that when it lands the tires are going about the same speed as the ground.
Congratulations Dan and Bigfoot team from Gateway Motorsports Park! Impressive, well executed jump!
you guys made that jump look easy, truck after the truck looked ready for competition.
Wow, I didn't know that, thanks for the tip! Loving the new videos!
Nice job guys, that was a beautiful jump!
Bigfoot definitely has to make some world record shirts and hats! I'll buy mine right away!
DAN “the man” RUNTE
Imagine how far we can jump these in these trucks next 12 years!
Big foot is the best.
It is a drive-train thing ... you don't want the truck which is travelling at 70+ MPH hitting the ground which is going 0 MPH with no wheel speed because it will break gears in the axle and possibly more parts moving back through the drive-train.
bigfoot #1 nice work Dan :) lengendary bigfoot
No sir, it is a trophy truck body based on a Ford F150.
Awesome!!!
Awesome! Love the slow-mo cams at the ramp & landing area. I'm curious to where the measurement of the front tire was taken. It appears to me that it was taken from the backside of the front tires. Was that the plan? Congrats to ya's all, great job!
It's something amazing to see these huge beasts jump 200 ft like it was nothing.
very nice
I noticed that you rev the engine harder when the truck is in mid air. Does that improve the length of the jump?

huuuuuuuuh how could this?

bigfoot #1 forever
Many years ago you guys brought all the Bigfoot monster trucks up to the Indy 4x4 jamboree. Do you have any video of that? It would he great to see. I still have center fold picture from Peterson's 4 wheel&off road magazine of that event.
the landing went better than bad habits
very cool
wish yall would come back to monster jam with dan as the driver :)
Perfect.
i hate to bring up monster jam but if you notice sine the old motocross racers are in monster trucks now, everyone taps the brakes to drop the front end as you do on a motocross bike, i never noticed this until after the x motorcross racers started doing it in the monster trucks. i could be wrong but it is just my observation.
Dan runte is perfect for monster jam
How would bigfoot 18 do in a short course offroad race?
So then as long as the tires are still spinning, the truck won't hit the ground on impact?
All they have to do for us to appear at their events is to call us at 314-731-8112 and ask for Kim or Bob T.
Love how it was almost identical throttle rythm.
Have you heard that bad habit is going to try for the record again? Can't wait to see bigfoot crush it again!
What kind of engine? I'm guessing a Ford block? CID? HP? TQ?
No, your Chevy can't do this!
epic.
Oh yeah, I read something about that once...
LOL 1:09 I PEED A LIL BIT.
Actually it was ready for anything. It sustained no damage and went out for freestyle shortly after the jump.
it is a chevy? i know it wasnt for the longest time but thats a chevy shell
