2019 cricket world cup final was the greatest match ever played, extreme display of great batting, balling and fielding. And then the England's win by the barest of margins made it the best game ever.

I was there at this game live on 12/03/2006. Goosebumps being proudly South African watching Gibbs going crazy live in person. His best innings ever... the tension, excitement, pressure and fighting spirit was felt by all in the stadium. At the half time break they brought out the Oscar award and winning cast for the first South African movie(Tsotsi) to win an Oscar, that gave us some hope and Inspiration. At the last Over they played the song country roads take me home. Everything was a dream to chase the World record under pressure of the best team at the time. We South Africans never give up. This game inspired a nation. The atmosphere was electric and that game is always remembered as the greatest one day match ever played. Privileged to have seen it in person. What a way to have life memories.

Exactly. Grame Smith's 55 balls 90 gave the much needed spine to the morale of SA batsman before Gibbs carried forward the baton. I rate this as one of the greatest ODI innings.

Played on this day in 2006. On its 16th birthday, the game is still the best ODI till date.

I showed this match to a patient suffering from depression and suicidal ideation... Imagine what... He got motivated and started taking treatment... What a match... Raised a hope in a person suffering from suicidal ideation (anything is possible)

What an epic match, still one of those legendary matches in cricket.

Ricky Pointing was luck enough to have a group of legends in his team. Among them he was at the top as a leader.

That Aussie team kept lifting the bar, forcing other nations to get better if they wanted to win. Great period in cricket. Glorious knock by Ponting. Historic match...still easily the best ODI ever played.

Bonga Rozani They made that against weak teams, not against aus. And also because Devilliers is in top form, and far better than any other odi batsman, (ponting included). And there are many reasons why such huge scores are made nowadays. Because the game is more batsman oriented. Field restrictions, thicker bats, flat pitches etc. This is why 400 has become the new 300.

For example, Dale Steyn, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Johnson, Trent Boult, Morne Morkel, James Anderson, Stuart Broad etc. Allan Donald himself stated that Dale is the best bowler SA ever produced. Still, Sachin Tendulkar scored the first ODI double ton when he was in the opponents team.

Both captains didn't know what was gonna happen next. 😝🔥

The footage of this game is now priceless cricket history. Its what happens when you have two of the best win-focussed attacking captains the game has ever produced.
