World Premier I Sasga Menorquin 55 Full Walkthrough | The Marine Channel

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We were lucky enough to be allowed aboard the stunning Menorquin 55 by Sasga Yachts, for its World Premiere! The boat is officially being revealed in Cannes later this summer but The Marine Channel was given a world exclusive at the Palma Boat Show by the buiders Sasga and the boats lucky owner.
The boat is a semi custom build, constructed in the Sasga yard in Menorca. The passion and craftsmanship is simply stunning and we were blown away by the generous accomodation and 'small ship' feel that gave a huge feeling of confidence.
Huge thanks to the Sasga, for more information about the Sasga range contact....

No crew cabin, loads of space in engine room hence this is where the washer/dryer is.

Lovely boat, improved as the tour went on.Seems much bigger than a 55 and from bow to pilot house is massive with great seating/lounging options...depending on what's underneath the skin, this could be a cracking choice.

They're well built. Vacuum infused hulls. Doublewall bulkheads for wiring channels from what I gather. Interiors built in the hull, not just a liner bonded in. Lower speeds and a sharper entry compared to typical planing hulls, also results in less peak forces beating on the boats. From what I've seen, these last (Although part of that may be due to the sort of buyer who tend to buy such boats). And the fairly straight and "simple" shapes makes inspection and repair less complicated. The boats are marketed to ex-cruising sailors. Who, after living aboard and dealing with "boat-problems" for decades, can be a picky lot. What you give up, is mainly the ability to run fast. A good planing hull with equivalent interior volume, could go 50-75% faster, some without burning much more fuel per hour. And they'll never be "exciting" to pilot, in the way a fast offshore rib is. OTOH, you gain better ability to run slow. These sit more in the water, and are less dependent on speed to stabilise the incessant high-frequency bobbing and bouncing of planing hulls at displacement speeds. These aren't as behaved as sailboats nor Nordhavns at displacement speeds, neither; but they're somewhere between those and a 40 knot planing hull. Ditto at anchor, absent Seakeepers and such.

Great review of a very interesting boat. Could you confirm what the engines are?
