This ship will elimite shima and Z52. The shima is already power kreeped to noting (why is this ship still popular , I have no idea). Z52 was the torp spam king (with that brutal reload) and WG did? They are introduesing a torp boat with Shima size,speed and torp range with Z52 torp reload and 8 usefull guns ....

This ship is way too OP for all the current DD. I mean you never actually use AA on any current DD anyway, except for Grozo, but even then Grozo’s AA use is very situational and not recommended for offensively in general. This Somer is what new beginners dream of after the Nicholas. How do u get the ship btw?

@@hoangdaniel4359 Nicholas is a paper ship, US DD's produced go Clemson-> Farragut->Porter ->Mahan->Gridley->Bagley->Somers-> if you don't split the DD line into "gun" and "torp" like they did IJN.

Shima doesnt need to be eliminated it sucks. So sure it beats shima. However Z52 is totally different ship and does different stuff - Z52 is best cap bully and somers cant compete with it at all on this job. Not saying Z-52 is better but tbh for idk ranked stuff i would take Z52 over Somers.

@@Mario-kf3ej Z-52, based off the 1942C line. Laid down in 1943. Canceled 1944, 3100 tons. Somers, Laid down 1935, Launched 1937. 1800 std. tons. Z-52 is 8 year newer design, with wartime experience and 1/3rd heavier. It's a WG "balance" function in action.

Who even needs Shimakaze in port at the moment, really? well played, WG.

Somers class - designed and laid down in the mid-1930's, in service in late 1930's. Shima didn't show until 1943. Somers and Porter classes should have been in the game earlier. Top heavy, with dual purpose guns in single-purpose mounts they were not a great design, but they were actually contemporaries of Asashio and Kagero classes.

Wilson Lee somer conceal identical to Gearing, but yea most people play Shima at this point simply because its Shima XD. Sometime I do get reminiscent about the good old day though

@@Sfirodrepanoskarxarias WG is a Russian developer, no? It was meant as a jest, of course. Anyone with a modicum of rational thought will conclude that Russian bias is only valid as a meme. I could see some disagreeing on that regarding the IJN torp-boats, but I think that's simply because the meta has become rather hostile to torpedo-focussed DDs. You either get really (REALLY) good at remaining undetected or you accept that these ship lines have become either mostly inaccessible or even irrelevant.

@@Tsnelo The Shima still has more average damage than the Gearing, the Grozo and the Z 52. It has amazing stealth, it's fast, it's torps hit like a train and it's guns are pretty solid if you use them properly, that is to finish relatively low hp dds. Sure, the Somers seems to be exceptionally strong but when you see those videos just remember that Flambass is a super unicum. At the hands of the average player? Hmm, we'll see about that.

Yeah is really funny to see one of the best torps (and the most dangerous to carry) with fast speed, hard to detect and a huge explosive warhead... But the part of "hard to detect" is a joke now 🤣 What happens when a shima captain test other dds?? He scores a lot of torps easily 😏

How do you get the special sound effects of the shells hitting ships?

It would be awesome to see maps with icebergs. That could be blown up by torp and shells.

Shima with speed flags has a top speed around 41kts.

"How many times do I have to press stop to actually stop?" 4 times. "I lost all my HP for no reason." You only pressed "s" two times. ;-) Mad respect for your skills, but it is nice to see even "the pros" make mistakes like that. ;-)

At the end, with the Shima, move in slightly inside his wake and benefit from his breaking the water ahead and get a small speed boost. What? Your saying that does not work in WoWS?

I did too. That fucking Kremlin had over 70 k health left and instead of turning out (sure he could eat citadels) he fucking accepts the ram. Abselute mongrel even says "My kraken :(" Yeah of course you cant get a fucking Kraken when you fuck up that badly. He got 4 kills with what i bet is 0 skill. OP ship + knows how to angle = profit

I don't get it at all. My Shima is now so terrible that I refuse to play it. My Yueyang's guns are so weak that I'm now cared of Shimas (they got the damage buff). My Gearing is the only one that I still like playing, but now they've brought in this Gearing ++. Not to mention running scared in even a Gearing from Kitas and Harus. The guns in Sommers don't have THAT bad a reload...plus you get 2 extra. Sigh. It's like every new ship that comes out makes the earlier ones obsolete. By the time I grind a Haru they'll have come out with something that has a 1 second reload with auto tracking turrets so you don't even need to aim. :(

I prefer Kitakaze over Harugumo, Haru is easily destroyed by BB AP. 1 good pen and bye 4K.

@@Sombody123 With the CV meta as it is, yes. Without CVs though it is absolutely insane. I've seen them melt BBs and CA/CLs at range. DDs don't stand a chance at anything around 4-7 km. Hell sometimes they kill a DD on 5k health when it's hiding behind a smoke screen. Just so much volume of fire! A DD that can scare a Khaba is scary! :D But yeah, with CV meta it's become a bit better. Edit: One thing though - Haru players are kinda selfish, they have to be considering they're not good torp boats. The lack of spotting, sitting in smoke and firing away hurts the team and it shows in the win rate. One of the lowest on the Asia server among T10 DDs even though the damage is 2nd highest.

I like how He looks at the roster of enemies and mentions detections of the dd-s. Fck if i could remember mine and the damn air detection that would be epic. But Flambass gets payed to play soo, yeah he needs to remember everything or have charts sticked to wall with detections. :)

Deep water torps of the yueyang. They work only on CVs, bbs and cruiser. DDs are safe.

Being a t10 (aka _the_ competitive tier), it will either be coal, free xp, steel, or an alternate t10 in the tech tree. WG has released T9 premiums for money in the premium shop (personally I don’t think that was a good idea, but it’s already been done), but so far every t10 freemium has been coal or steel only, and no steel ship has been made available for money in the premium shop directly.

I do not think so. You should be fair when you are comparing ships as a KZreadr. If you do some Math, you can find the reload time of the MK17 of the Somers is same with the Gearing. I know you guys will say that the Somers reload faster but that is because that the Somers has 4 Torpedoes per tube and Gearing has 5. The reload time for 1 MK17 Torpedo is identical for both ships because of the identical Torpedo. I also want to list the reason why I will Use Gearing instead of Somers. First of all, Gearing has better guns and a much smaller hull, which means Gearing are harder to hit and can hit others harder than Somers if the shells and guns are identical. Also, Gearing has a plate of 21mm which can shatter the both 5' US and Germany guns.Gearing also has more HP(Hit Points). Overall, Somers all good for those players who like to play "Skillkaze".

During the war some of the units were converted to use dual purpose mounts for their 127/38's so they'd have LR AA. And some had one of the 127mm mounts replaced with 40mm Bofors as well. But.. I can grasp why they'd do this for "game balance reasons." Assuming it wasn't "Fine you annoying history fans, you can have your stupid 1930's USN destroyer leader. But only as a Tier 10 Premium!"

The model of releasing new ships that make current ships obsolete is incredibly annoying. Then after a couple of months they nerf them. Carriers have ruined this game so it's hard to get excited about anything.

I don't understand: (1) At 7:10, you are radar detected and no nearby enemy ships shoot at you when you are clearly in open water with enemy ships on 3 sides? I always get killed or maimed if I do something that stupid. (2) Why do you whine at 10:10 about getting shot up at the edge of your smoke screen? You are clearly at 1/2 speed, not 1/4 speed, which means you are still detectable and still outside the smoke screen for a bit. (3) Why do those 2 torps pass directly under you at 11:00 and do no damage to you, or to the allied DD on the far side of you? If I got that much incredible luck, I would get those high scores all the time too, Flambass.
