Hood and warspite have a longer fuse time while QE and repulse have the short fuse

Today, December 10 is the anniversary of the sinking of HMS Repulse

I have her and i really, really like her. Her guns feel super accurate for T6. It feels like shooting T8-9 Guns to me. Armor feels pretty bad but it's still a BB, and a fast one at that, so not really a big problem at all. Great ship, absolutely worth getting :D

I got this ship for operations. It is a lot of fun. Use the speed to boost to close or open range and reposition.

Tier 6 matchmaking is a real blessing for this ship. So nice not to see Tier 9s, like how all my T7 British premiums have to deal with. Wish it had Warspite's shells though, QE AP is worse in tier and really struggles to deal damage against anything with proper armour.

I would have preferred Renown, since Renown actually fought with distinction throughout the war while Repulse's main action was getting sunk by the Japanese. But given how Renown was actually able to have a Queen Elizabeth/Warspite/Valiant style refit, perhaps we'll see her as a T7, or as a tech tree ship if the British get a battlecruiser line.

FINALLY SALVATION OH LAWDYLAWD. Great to hear your voice truely happy and excited. Also you: one of the downsides of these guns is that you have to aim. ^^

Damn you must have waited for a god damn long time. You look like a kid finaly getting his christmass gift. Not gonna lie i'll have to wait but you bet she's gonna be one of my favourite once in port.

I found the repulse to be extremely mediocre, but wargaming also sought to put me into a tier 8 game literally everytime I played the repluse. So having 16mm of armor was a bit of a deal breaker for me.

She is a ship that needs to placed in the correct tiers to shine. Hopefully they have some lower tier game modes in the future, or ranked.

Agreed. I got her a couple days ago. Every game for 5 games was t8. I haven't bothered playing it since. Doing 25 to 40k wasn't worth the 'fun'.

Good review again as per usual. I would still rate this ship an 8/10 for two reasons The Accuracy and speed for its tier. Even if you have bad turning radius, the raw accuracy and speed more then make up for its less "raw" armor. Queen Elziabeth shells are still very competitive if its within its own tier or tier 7. 8s yeah then just spam he if you cant pen you will hit often. Granted this is an opinion others will likely say or nay on that as well.

I know this is a fairly old video but thank you for the upload. Have only been playing a couple of weeks and was tempted to get this in the Black Friday (2023) thing. Think i will hold off until I find my sea legs and get drawn to a particular class (liking Destroyers at the moment because of the versatility but I suck playing them, lol). Thanks again for upload.

She is very squishy, but angled you can tank quite a bit. But that might be that people don't know where to shoot yet... long range shots accuracy feel 50% hit or miss, very rng dependent. Closer around 13 km they become more reliable. I put engine acceleration module to start eith, but I believe I'll switchto better turning module.

Been waiting for her for six years, near enough. One of the most beautifully built capital ships you saw :)

Wow...that armour model is nothing like what she was IRL. She had deck plating between 25 and 64mm as she was originally built, which went up to 102mm in places after he final refit in 1939. Not to mention her belt being increased from 6 inches to 9 inches (which I think is in game, oddly). It's like this bizarre hybrid of 1916 and 1939 versions, with the deck and bow armour mega nerfed.

I remember a combat mission that was for the Repulse and when hovering over the ships listed in combat missions it normally tells you how to get them (tech tree, armoury, shop, etc) but when overing over Repulse’s icon in the mission it said available for doubloons so I’m thinking maybe she will be added to armoury at some point.

I hit 39.3kts. It's fun and hilarious how I'm keeping up with some DDs

British battlecruiser line? That sounds awesome, hope they add ships like invincible, lion or tiger

That "helllooo" sounded orgasmic :) Faced the Repulse in a Strasbourg, looks that even 320 mm guns can damage it seriously.

Most accurate BB guns at tier 6 maybe. Don't forget Molotov or the American CA, which' name I forgot

You mention at around the 5:00 mark that she has six 16” guns. Looking at the ship specs in the video, she carries 381mm guns, which are 15” guns.

My favorite damn ship, and they make her a 'dockyard' one. Have been in love with it since the early 1980's ( one of the first model ships I built ) and it ends up a docker. The Gods are cruel. EDIT; where the other Gods played their Evil game on me, most benevolent Dīs Pater smiled on me... for a price. But, she was worth the money.

Just grinded to it today.

I have been enjoying low tier recently alot so I am really excited to get this ship it is like a tier 6 thunderer so yeah

Siegfried has the most accurate 15" guns in the game with 163 m dispersion at 20.6 km vs the Repulse with 199 m at 19.8 km.

1:21 well she was sunk today 80 years ago. I would expect you to know that, if you say you are such a big fan of this ship.

I dont understand how the repluse 381mm ap shells can shatter on anyrhing in tier 6. As it it the heaviest ap shell in the tier. How the hell can they majority shatter or bounce

I simply use HE cause im tired of playing AP 6 or 8 shells and either they alnd all around the taget although on the target and if some do hit 80% either shatter or bounce although some kf the hardest hitting AP in the 6 and 7 tier. It also hurts 30sec reload for 6 guns that almost all.shatter or bounce

They seemed to have nerfed the hell out of repulse since the dockyard. 3 turrets 2 guns each. Aimingvis screwed even with aiming mod applied. Thisxiscascof march 2022

the ship uses same guns as Hood

Which are the same guns and QE and Warspite but she has Mk1 turrets unlike Hood that has the Mk2 turrets.

thanks for your review, but after playing her a while now, for me she is at most a 5 out of 10, she is going to be another rusting portqueen

I don't see the point of this ship ... for me it's pretty underperforming so far

It's just bad. An Alaska is much much more survivable. You are basically citadel proof. The 12" hit just as hard, they have cruiser accuracy and the reload fast. Alaskas are also very fast at 33 knots no flags or boost needed. Nose in and you can charge a Yamato or Musashi putting citadels into their sides. You can take fire from 3 or 4 BBs while disengaging and you won't get blapped.

I would give this ship 4-5/10. Really bad ship! (I have about 6k battles and 55% overall WR, 1650 PR) I did all the missions for her and a big disappointment! I can only compare her to the Novorossiysk that I also got for free for much less efforts. Novo is a kickass, Repulse is a softball that every enemy punches when spotted, since it's easy to torch and pen her. Shit survivability even in T6. Repulse is a clumsy cruiser in a battleship slot with bad reload a zero concealment. Avoid!

why don,t you play her against some real opposition instead of ships that any ship can sink
