It happens all the time. Colossus itself is extremely vulnerable to most attacks and has only short-range AA. Meanwhile, if your opponent has a brain, your rocket planes aren't getting the big hits and you have to work for it - especially if the opposing CV has an armored deck which negates your other big hit.

Fun fact: old Kaga's secondary armament used to have two different ammo types, HE shells for the 127mm same as all Japanese ships today, but her ten 200mm secondary guns had AP shells! back then when all commanders had the same skills, people could build into secondary's and the 200mm would melt cruisers and the 127s still could cause fires although unlikely to do much meaningful damage

One thing you didnt mention that make the dive bombers even more new player friendly than they already seem is they have almost a glide bomber drop pattern where after they go up and down extremely quickly they still have the majority of their drop timer being flying level at low height, giving them time to realign their drop and combined with the small reticle makes them extremely good DD nukers.

best way to do this is to slow down the planes when initiating the attack and when the timer hits 1 second hold down the speed boost. You will always have a reticle very close to the surface.

Kaga was fun as hell before the CV rework. A sea of torpedos

I got Kaga from the last lunar new year event or whatever. She was the very first random bundle, cost me 888 doubloons. I got a taste of what a good higher tier cv was like to play, and now I want more. Just bough Malta last week.

I think Saipan is older than Kaga.

The Kaga is my favorite credit farming ship. When you get uptiered to tier 10 farming yamatos and GKs is always a great way to get credits.

As you may recall the Kaga and Saipan were tier 7 CVs before the CV rework thus the cheaper price. I don't recall any price increase for these ships after the rework but I do remember the airplanes were improved in some fashion.

Kaga is the definition of throwing planes at something until it's dead.

I haven't played my Kaga in an age, but I've always enjoyed playing it.

I have this ship but as the black Friday ship got it in my prime lot box and hop into battle from time to time!

Kaga is one of my favorite ships in the game, not only for its ease of credit farming, but for its enjoyable, easy play style.

Kaga is an aircraft carrier very suitable for beginner till veteran... For the beginners: It's huge amount of planes keeping the squadrons won't running out for a short time... For the veterans: Torpedo bombers drop four torpedoes per drop with 3 drops per squadron, It's somehow powerful for dealing huge damage to large targets like Battleships and Heavy Cruisers...

Can you do a retour series in premium ship that is actually good for credits farming and how much percentage they give instead of normal ships? Also, the russian BB's revisit from tier 3? Would like the german also 👍🏼 One last thing, how to play bb (each country) in each tier would be a good suggestion series 🙏🏻🙏🏻!!

Why Tier 3? Not even Wargaming wants you to play ships below T5 otherwise those would count towards progress off anything really.

IJN Kaga is my favorite ship of WWII, I'm glad she's actually effective in-game because I play her at least once every day.

God this was my favorite CV to play pre-rework

Few years ago I got Kaga B I think it was in a crate. But it is still one of my favorite CVs in the game. I dont play cvs often, but when I do.. I want it to be Kaga

I am no CV player but I agree Kaga is new player friendly.

One of my favorite CVs; i get destroyed with two runs of the Hornet when i am playing the Kaga.

Colossus should be able to immediately devstrike ANY CV in the game and all subs in the match, enemy and friendly, in a single run and then detonate. It should not be able to strike, or even see, any other ships.

Kaga is the only carrier that I've had success with, mostly by carrier sniping and then having late game air superiority. I wish the secondary battery was a bit better though.

You shouldn't be afraid of Colossus players in a Kaga whatsoever since it can't citadel you. If a Colossus ever tries to strike you then you could EASILY kill him in 3 of your torp Squad. Colossus has no AA or range on it and the only thing that the defends it is the fighters. That was probably bad on your part to not focusing him down before he kills you because it's not like you're gonna lose any significant amount of planes him. Kaga is a good counter to Colossus.

Saipan is the oldest premium CV. At least a year older than Kaga.

Best CV in the game.

Aggressively played Russian CV's either the Pobeda or Chkalov can easily rocket to death an opposing T8 CV in a handful of runs as well. It is pretty standard practice to CV snipe with them especially if there is a significant skill disparity between the CV players.

Kaga and Kaga Black I use both in Operations and do very well

beside nerfing the Collossus .they need to buff AA and anti sub armaments... its so dumg killing 100 planes withtout a effect on the cv ... and ist still hard to go against subs ...

Kaga’s decent in Co-op and operations. She just has pretty slow planes which makes force projection in those modes more time consuming where matches tend to go much faster or on rails.

I got Colossus. It was 75doubs+200K free XP for me inside one of 3 "lucky" boxes. I play it mostly just for current convoy CV missions. I will probably leave it then, currently having also 200perc bonus on all XP mission for it (45days total I guess). Yeah, I could do upto 19K to enemy CV with 1st attract, but running across whole map, relying on fighters, it would take probably half of match to kill the thing so far. Never effectively sólo killed enemy CV. If I killed him ever, the guy was already late match, already hit by other ships, maybe even hybrids, lol. But Kaga, Oh. I was 1 vs 1 brawl in my Zieten and the Kaga was not spotted, but I was dead just flanking towards caps. In 4 runs dead. Back to Colossus It is probably strong against light armor broadside if it brings fighters, but other squads are below average. Dive bombers have large reticle - drop radius, but have plenty of ordnance per drop, torps are ok on damage 3x5200 but only 2,4km running ABS quite slow, even large ships can avoid them quite easily. Anyway I am not CV focused player, if I would have spend just coal or any free resource with option to pick ship type, it would be CV just for curiosity and kind lack of them as premiums, but other ship types are still more usefull, universal to use in all game modes. (I am not a prem ship buyer but still collector's mentality for ships I can get free, just buying premium account, but I am glad other guys, who buy prem ship la make the game cheaper for me too!) If I made with Colossus better vs enemy CV, that was by spotting around map than by rumor of wiping single target with rockets.

Good advice, learn to do unto others, before they do unto you. That is what it takes with CVs and subs to get better playing other ships.

It's a shame we dont get the 3 deck variant :D

For the weekend Naval Battles the KAGA is my Go TO IJN CV hands down. I haven't faced a COLOSSUS with her as of yet; but the lat time I was up against 1, the CV player decided his bombers & torp planes were better... go figure.

had the misfortune of going against a Colossus with a Kaga. they hurt, but you can use your armor to help a good deal

She does okay versus the Colossus. The Kaga's torp protection and armor will absorb waterline rocket hits, so regular pens are the best you can do. As the Kaga you still need to turn into or away from the attack. Also pay careful attention to the Colossus bombers, since you don't have an armored deck - if you let him line up on you, you'll take massive damage from the bombs.

I could swear the dead Boise was firing AA at you at the end of the match??! 🤨

Wow - I can not understand why people pay so much for a ship - I have only bought about 3 ships but no where near £50 - one of my ships only cost £0.69p

Cycling bombs is a waste of time and DPM most of the time. Sea Lord finished with a lot of torpedoes and 2 heals left.

Idk why everyone likes the kaga i think it sucks i can never do more than 20-40k damage a game

Not sure why there is still so much CV hate, they are not *that* dangerous... unless you run into someone who into CB's, ranked and all that jazz. But against those opponents, there ship-choice is moot, as they are just good. I do not see them that often. I seriously recall people "reporting" other players, simply because the reported had the temerity to be playing a carrier. That's a tad childish. The Kaga is a fun ship for her torpedo planes, and the speed at which they can be deployed.

The ColloSUS CV is just fking stupid I have saw a BB get half of it hp gone at the start of the game

@@missk1697 21 pt cmdr you want ET,AS,TB,IE,RS,SS,AA,SE, and EAA when it comes to kaga speed and plane health rule the sky as for the mods you want AGM1,AEM1,ATM1,TBM2,and SCM1 also learning to use speed boost and heal consumables on attacks will give you an opportunity to get 2 runs off instead of sending a flight back and only getting 1 attack off in most situations obviously not flying into 5-6 aa boats however if not uptiered to 10's you can easily fly into a group of 3-4 ships and still get those 2 attacks off..again with proper use of consumables
