Can we talk abbout how the Lexington's secondaries can't hit the side of a barn from the inside?

Also - the opening dances-with-torpedoes vignette is great - a new thing, keep it coming. Kudos to deltaforce_9 for being able to maneuver his carrier and land a torpedo on a destroyer at the same time. (His secondary gunners appear to have gotten into the locker where they keep the torpedo alcohol again. He needs to get his Master-at-Arms onto that.)

Old_Guard the Let’s Dance vignette? He’s been doing that for quite a while. It is just rare whenever he does. It is kinda like a John Cena return. You can’t help but cheer whenever he returns, same with the Let’s Dance vignette.

Minekaze was the Kamikaze before the nerfs. WG nerfed Minekaze then started selling the pre-nerf Mine as Kamikaze....

It's 3 am where I live and a jingles video came out , bed time delayed

I used to play the Fujin a lot with really good success and then I won the Gremyashchy in a super container, and on Christmas Eve no less. Never looked back. That is a seal clubber like no other.

Kamikaze is basically what Minekaze used to be back in the closed beta. Man, that was such a fun DD.

I loved your lead-in, for about a minute. I would like to have seen more with that music, great stuff!

MJ love your running commentary. I watch as the shells go forth, arcing gracefully toward the target. Falling, falling ever closer to the victim and then......and then..... POW! U zoom out and I miss seeing the damn ship blow up! I'm an ole Marine and love seeing things blow up! You're killing my jones as they say. anyway keep up the commentary.

@Nep Nep But neither Fujin or Kamikaze R were sold. Both were rewards and went first.

Jingles, you have to remember that WG was looking at moving the GC up a tier in the MM, without changing anything else. I also remember the testers telling WG that the ship was OP in it's released state, and that it needed to be fixed a little more, but WG decided to release it anyway.

I actually remember playing a game in my new york when there was a kamikaze and a minekaze and I dodged multiple attacks from both of them, i guess thats what you get when you add modules to try and make a chunky bb torpbeat.

I loved Kamikaze and had so much fun with it at the beta. I used to rush through the side, to get by enemy destroyers and cruisers, and catch battleships, that did not expect to get torps at their base.

That opening video reminds me of the time i was one of the last 2 players. We were both in cvs and both were down to nothing but fighters. Ended up dualing with secondarys at the capture point.

Kamikaze is the one premium ship Wargaming has no right to balance. Before it came out those specs were on the Minekaze and it was as OP AF. They knew what it was, "balanced" the minekaze and put the OP specs on Kamikaze and happily pocketed the money. It wasn't a case of "oh dear, we messed up the balance on this new ship", it was "here have an OP ship and give us some money for it"

but the last time the ship was on sale was ages ago. everyone who owns it had ample time to have fun on the expense of average players. they should just give less dmg to the torps and call it a day, so the ship stays OP, but not so blatantly.

The Kamikaze R was released pre IJN torp nerf. When compared to the Minekaze of the time, the Minekaze was (slightly) superior: better rudder, better speed, and better AA (though that's not saying much about the relative AA strength), and the torps and guns were identical (though different gun arcs). At the time I preferred playing the Minekaze!! But then the Great IJN Torpedo Nerf came along, the Minekaze lost torpedo speed and damage, and became significantly worse than her Kamikaze (R)/Fujin sisters, while the Minekaze still does have better rudder, speed and AA, it doesn't make up for the bad Torps. I still miss the Minekaze with 10km torps!!! (which the Kamikaze never got).

you mean the minekaze? Its a sister ship of the kamikaze. the torps are slower and dont hit as hard, but they have the same range and reload a tad faster. The minekaze is also a few knots faster as well.

If you want to be the torpedo god, all it takes is a slight adjustment of playstyle: The Mutsuki's torpedoes reload slower, but they reach further, and are faster than the Minekaze's.

Time sure flies, I have worked in the salt mine for at least 4 years now.

Rob D yeah it does. Just 7 years ago I was introduced to Bohemian Eagle, not using this account of course, my other account that got taken down for NO reason at all. I was just a petty salt miner. Now, after 7 years of service, I am one of the few commanders for the salt mines. In charge of discipline and order, along with ensuring we meet our quota. It’s fun telling people to get back to work, and the punishments you can come up with are incredible as long as you have the creativity to think em up.

The Gulio was Nerfed. It had a concealment nerfed and the shells had their arming nered by 40mm so it cannot citadel BBs as easily

I have had games like that in my Kamikaze as well.... So much fun

I first watched World of Warships from my hospital bed after life changing surgery and was in something of a mess one of the things that I looked forward to was playing the game and some of the outstanding ships available like this one, the Belfast, Julio etc none of them were in the bloody game when I was finally kitted out and well enough to play, gutted 😣 Keep up the good work Young Chap 👍

hello there mr Jingles. As always a very entertaining video. as always watching with a great big smile. funny you should mention that. Have those premium ships you mentioned. Kurtisov Kamikaze and the Belfast..so thinking I need to play those more often. thanx again. and have a great weekend.

Another big factor for a lot of premiums is they can take your best crews so Kamikaze is often played with full 19 point captains vs people unlikely to have 10 point ones :)

You forgot to mention that they decided to rebalance the Giulio Cesare after they decided to sell it for a sizeable X amount of money in holiday loot boxes which certainly made people more belligerent of letting go of their OP battleship. I can't help but think that it was all planned out by some finger-tenting mastermind behind the WG marketing department to turn the community against itself on this issue and continue to sell OP ships without complaints. Hell, I can already see the Smolensk being taken off the shelves in the not-so-far future and being the centerpiece of next year's holiday loot box extravaganza.

Well they did release some of the premiums in the game while being told by CCs and testers that they are way too OP ... so yes, it's an issue of their own making ... Just looks at the latest example, the Smolensk ...

Jingles: "Nobody buys a Kamikaze to go out and get into gunfights" My gunboat-spec'd Kamikaze: "Oh really?"

Imagine seeing those torpedoes heading for the ship you are on, then sputter out and go impotently bump against the hull without enough speed to go boom. Red alert over, now get those crew members with brown alert hosed down.

Oh i so loved when it came out the first time around. Got a 173k game where 4 bbs just crashed into one and another in an hilarious notser crash against an Island. They be like panic shouting in chat, shooting eachother.. While i sat still.. 6km away.. Torping them

I miss the 10km torpedoes that the Miniokaze use to have for a torpedo option. Blind torp firing was wonderful then.

I think part of the backlash for Giulio Cesare was due to them moving it up a tier without actually making it good enough to be a T6. Remember the armor is terrible, the AA is terrible, the pen and range is fairly bad as well. The biggest factors making Giulio Cesare so good is that it's accurate, fast and increadibly stealthy. Honestly I reckon they could tone down some of those factors and have it work as a T5 but I don't really see it standing a damn chance against something like a NC as a T6. From what I saw Giulio Cesare in her testing phase as Giunio Bruto went from an OP T5 to worse than Dunkerque as a T6

While I haven't played in years, I do remember having my 15P Shima capt. in my Kamikaze R rampaging in low tiers cuz the shima kinda sucks, torp play is definitely different in high tier a lot more tools to mess up torps

Well, you forgot to mention the OP of all time **** The Imperator Nikolai ****, the only BB at tier 4 that can land shell almost on top of each other......

They nerfed the Sims and Atlanta in year 1. They changed the flight path of the shells making them impossible to hit anything at range with. Both ships were op at the time and the nerfs made them near useless but then they were buffed and added to the store again. They still are not quite as good as they were originally but they are powerful ships again, in the right hands, in the right battle. I got my kamikaze R for free from a mission if I recall.

I have a kutuzov, and I'm definitely not disappointed, it's pretty much a Cleveland with longer range, torpedoes, and smoke screens, only gotta be 7.7km away in order to stay hidden in the smoke while firing, and with a 20km range, that's no problem.

As I discovered yesterday in tier 4 and below Random Battles there is one way new players are unprotected. I played six Random Battles yesterday. In five battles it put the experienced players on one side. One team always had clan members, and the quality of play on that team was outstanding. I was not on any of the experienced teams. We lost every game and badly. Could barely put upon a fight. The one battle where this didn't happen had only three players on each team. My team won but barely. I could tell none, including me, were very experienced. So new players are simply slightly sophisticated bots to let experienced players rack up their scores.

I love that intro. You know that DD player is kicking himself for that.

Thanks for the lower and mid tier games recently, Jingles. They are really enjoyable and it I actually own the ships featured in them so it motivates me to get out and play.

The intro is why you either get a destroyer with two spreads of torpedoes on one side, or you fire slightly to the side of that ship. It won't bow tank you, it'll work its best to dodge the torpedoes it thinks you fired head on! When you fire head on, they can just turn away. Nice try, but no dice, alas, little DD.

I do love when I come up against the Kamikaze and can blat it. I am just super aware that it's OP and factor that into my game. Thus I usually beat it however it takes dedication.

I've finished off a few cruisers with the guns on my Fujin. Really fun ship.

the alpha really is not shit anymore ^^ A fair few people underestimate them, same with for example the german DD. A cruiser that doesn't respect those guns especially at short range gets absolutely shat on.

I'd just managed to grind up to the Minekaze when WG introduced the IJN DD split and nerfed it into oblivion...now, the ship I most wanted to own is my least played ship :( So I'm especially envious when I come up against a Kamikaze, being reminded of what might have been...

Yep, I remember doing like 192k in the Kamikaze R. Nope not broken at all :-)
