I feel like a "taste" is different froma "hobby" most hobbies are expensive, you need materials to support it. For example: I'm a dude working at a factory in a third world country, I live in a room shared with my brother, I know hunger and my room gets too warm in summer and too cold in winter... but you know what I have? an Ipad to do digital art because I love art, I have imported comic books, art books and illustrations made by artists I admire because I love it, I play videogames even tho they're a luxury overe here... it's part of the hobby and I still know how to save money. Despite that, I can safely say that I don't have expensive tastes, everything else in my life is modest and I'm comfortable that way.

@@Spicy_Spores That isn't unusual for the horde, though. In Warcraft 3, Reign of Chaos (not even the expansion, the base game) the final mission has the horde allying with the humans and night elves to stop Archimonde. Its been a thing since the beginning, at least as early as 2002. This was long before the events of World of Warcraft and Thrall obviously remembers that sometimes the combined strength of all Azeroth is required to save it from annihilation (he was there when Archimonde almost destroyed Azeroth). It isn't so much of a peace as it is a cease fire while they deal with a much more powerful threat than either faction is on their own.

I was one of those goofy folks that was raised on the old depression-era radio programs even though it was half a century before my time. The thing that always stuck out to me is that the pillars of entertainment and comedy like Jack Benny, Abbott and Costello, Benny Goodman etc? They all had advertisers, they were all sponsored, but they always made them entertaining. Fifty years after their programs were recorded, it's still fun to listen to them talk about Lucky Strike or Pepsodent because they made it into a skit, a play or a bit. That's what I think a lot of modern KZreadrs don't consider when they take the payday and just read whatever was given to them. If it's dry, if it's just a straight ad, then it tremendously dates their media. If I watch a video a decade from now, will I be cringing at a creator waxing lyrical about Raid: Shadow Legends? I appreciate you caring about the way your videos will be viewed in the future, Josh.

Love your content and this video! I respect your dedication to keep to your ideals and viewpoints 🙂 You mentioned that sponsorships in videos are effectively permanent adverts. If so, do you feel it would be appropriate to take previously sponsored videos when a related company shifts their ethics/stance? Or should the videos remain uploaded, as they could be considered a 'snapshot' in time, rather than a continuing reflection of a content creator's support for a company? I find that to be an interesting situation, as there's always a risk in associating with a sponsorship. That's especially true if the sponsorship spans across a library of videos over several years.

Sure id have a really nice computer and would probably keep it updated, maybe id get a nice reliable car and get a house. But i too don't need the gilded toilet. Do whatever is right and whatever keeps you able to make the things that make yourself and the audience happy. But we have a little bit of a foundation this time. BfA and Shadowlands were mindlessly hyped but dragobflight Was actually good. It was modest and humble. The setting was goofy but for the first time in like ever, Blizzard is confident enough to Release Player data. And you get like 4 versions of classic for the sub. I aint no Blizzard shill, i hated BFA so much, I didnt buy dragonflight nor shadowlands. But I think we should look at War within a little less sceptical way.

I have to wonder if the amount of 0s in the contract are what stands behind a lot of content creators saying The War Within Alpha is good. Don't get me wrong, I want it to be good because the delves appear to be good content for solo/duos, and that's something I'd like to do.

Think about which creators are saying it is good, and think about what those creators have said before about the game. If we are talking about Bellular, Asmon, Tali, Preach, these are all people who have been critical of Blizz in the past and would not lie for $$$. You know Bell wouldn't, he stakes too much reputation on it. All of them do.

Blizzard has done a much better job as of late with WoW. Both retail and Classic’s reception have been largely positive from the player base. I have been enjoying the game quite a lot and would love to see you cover it in the future. That time is not now though. The major glaring issue the game still has is its new player experience, which has been severely lacking as most of Blizzards resources have been spent fixing the end game issues that plagued the game for the last several expansions. Their solutions have largely been successful as retention rates are the highest they’ve been in years. I’m excited to see what the current wow team will do to revitalize the new player experience, (they’ve already said it’s on their to do list) and when it does, I would love to see your honest thoughts on how the game feels.
