World of Outlaws Sprint Cars at FALS 2018- "What a Feeling"

Спорт

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series made its inaugural stop at the historic Fairbury American Legion Speedway along with the always exciting Lucas Oil POWRi WAR Sprints and immediately left an impression in the heart of Late Model country. Even some of the die-hard stock cars fans were left with their jaws hanging after watching the likes of Kyle Larson, Donny Schatz, Sheldon Haudenschild and the rest of the Outlaws blaze around the famed quarter-mile.
Hunter Schuerenberg took the early lead, but it would be brief as he would suffer mechanical issues shortly after taking the top spot. Sheldon Haudenschild assumed the point and held off charges from the Shark Racing teammates of Jacob Allen and Logan Schuchart to take his 4th World of Outlaws feature win of the year.
Mitch Wissmiller jumped out to the early race lead after chugging along the bottom, but eventually the FALS cushion came around and Landon Simon and Thomas Meseraull were there to capitalize. T-Mez followed Simon up until the waning laps where he decided to let it all hang out and threw a HUGE slider on the 24 machine but could not complete the pass. Simon went on to win.

That's considered a tribute to Jason Johnson to me....sprint cars are one of life's best inventions. ...

My father is & was the Original Outlaw. He would have been proud of these young men... Still the best in the world. To Jason Johnson's family ,"I know how you feel because my father died racing sprint cars so did my uncle."Jason was fun to watch each week when he got into that sprint car...... I won't forget Jason. (My father is Jan Opperman) the Original Outlaw

Wow, if your father really is Jan Opperman....respect beyond words. Before my time, but my father has told me stories of what an amazing driver your father was....wish I was around back then to watch him myself.

@@RB-wg3pi thanks for remembering the old guys & some Sprint car history.... Comments like yours mean a lot.... Thank you R B I was his first born in 1964, Jan and my mom went to HighSchool together in Hayward California in the late 1950s. They were never married so back then people didn't like to talk about stuff like having a kid out of wedlock. It all never bothered me...

@@p.rossopperman4699 I would say wear that badge with pride! We have spoken about him many times when talking about Swindell, Kinser, the more recent generation of drivers and the heroes of the past. My father knows his story well.... both the good times and the unfortunate.

This footage is insanely clear! Thank you for your work in capturing and putting together. My only suggestion would be having a camera shot from the outside of the track too. I have found sometimes infield footage from bullring tracks can become dizzying. Overall, awesome material!

We typically do, but just didn't use any for this video. Definitely know what you're saying though.

Pudnite I saw at least two lines early in the night even before the top came in. I was mainly talking about the dry, dusty, slick rubbered up piece of shit racing surfaces you get come feature time. I guess that’s because all you’ve seen are the POS ones!!

From what i have seen, on "Grandstands Racing Videos", you DO see that, VERY often, at FALS and Farmer City and, without the unnecessary crappy music, no less.
