Nothing wrong with that. Learn tennis etiquette. If you want to be rowdy, save it for the US Open. @@javierlara6350 Let's be real, it's def not just UO. It's AO as well, & RG has been like this for a long time. 1000 events are like this now too. The hold-out is Wimbledon where you can still hear a pin drop before each serve. Players haven't mentioned enjoying it. Even players like Kyrgios who claim they like the noisy partisanship end up going apesh*t on crowd members who are heckling them. Many players, including the greats, have mentioned how distracting it's becoming. They talk about wanting the crowd to enjoy the matches but respect that players need quiet from the moment they step to the line to serve to the moment the point is over.

That’s part of the sport is to handle under all types of pressure. She should be embarrassed to even bring that up. None of the greats have ever challenged the audience and their behavior. I don’t care for her anyhow this just adds list of things that annoys me with her. Serena endured many set backs with the French crowd and handled under the conditions. The reason there’s so much support for Iga is because she’s a white woman. Speaking up is obviously more honorable when you’re in a white dominated sport.

Rubbish. Iga is 100% right to ask for respect from the audience, and this has absolutely nothing to do with the color of her skin. This is tennis, not MMA. It's about the audience refraining from screaming while the ball is being played. Afterwards, they can make any noise they want.

@@mwelb5251 You say "unfortunately" but also expect players to like it. Maybe pick a lane. It really depends what you want the game to be about. If you don't care about tennis-specific skills or who is best at them and just want to see a war with all the dirty bits, then anything goes, including shamelessly biased and disruptive crowd behaviour. At the extreme end of that, all sports are reduced to a contest of who can take the noise better, i.e. they're all the same and it gets boring. If, like me, you like variety, come to a tennis court for tennis rather than generic battle and want to see a fair, focussed contest of skill and will, cut the rowdiness. It's like an injury - part of the game, unfortunately, but to be minimised. Sure, keep up the energy and the drama, applaud your heart out, just shut it mid-point.
