World Migratory Birds Day 2024, 3/20/24

Protect Insects, Protect Birds: A Call to Action for Conservation through World Migratory Bird
Presented by Dr. Susan Bonfield, Executive Director at Environment for the Americas
Join us to learn about the importance of insects to migratory birds and how declines in both are interrelated. Insect populations are in decline, and with the loss of bees, butterflies, and other "bugs," many bird species are challenged to find the food they need as they migrate, feed their chicks, and overwinter. World Migratory Bird Day is a global campaign that connects over 1,000 organizations worldwide in raising awareness about migratory birds and their conservation. This presentation will explore how you can use the annual conservation theme to engage diverse audiences in becoming active participants, share how the materials and tools that are developed support your activities, and describe the many ways you can offer programs and presentations at your site that highlight local insects and the birds that depend on them.
