I actually find Angron's Butcher's Nails rule to be quite fluffy in a funny way. I can easily imagine Angron, surrounded by World Eaters he actively hates, just going so absolutely ham on whoever he's fighting that he is a detriment to even his own bodyguard unit. Plus if I recall correctly, in the fluff he hated the very idea of having a bodyguard at all.

I would use Angron solo on tabletop. Use cover to your advantage and kill everything he charges, as in turn 5 he has a total of 15 attacks thanks to rampage and charging. Don't forget, he has 7 attacks base as Gorefather and Gorechild both have specialist weapon. Also he can reroll EVERYTHING because of Shred AND hatred. He just punishes a retinue way to much, so he's better off on his own. He is the best unit-killer in the game at the moment.

Angron should be like Kratos in god of war where he can use his chain axes like the blades of chaos for a 12” ranged attack/to bring enemies closer to him or him to them (if it’s a tougher unit or dread or something)

I wonder would tactical Squads make sense in World Eaters? I’m not caring about the best units but I see them actually having and using Tactical Squads.

Despoilers and assault squads are probably more common, but I have tacticals with chain axes in my world eaters army.

Also not that its really relevant but Gorefather has always had different stats than Gorechild when it has had rules as a Relic in 40k. Also Yeah its weird that theyre two different weapons at all. They used to be essentialy 1 weapon that gives +1 attacks.

But then they did the same thing with Mercy and Forgiveness so its not like its an Angron only thing.

There is a lot of primarchs this edition who get +1 attack base for having 2 melee weapons. Angron has 7 for instance, both Russ and Curze have 8 attacks base.

I disagree greatly on kharn. The Cutter is pretty good against most things as rending means your always wounding on a 4+ . Gorechild is amazing with armourbane and murderous strike 3+ with shred on ws 7 is always good. His warlord Trait from my experience has won games by being able to charge nasty shooting squads with impunity

It's good, don't get me wrong, but in the points category he sits in, it's a tough sell to earn his points back. Do you REALLY want to fight a dreadnought in Close Combat?

@@TheOuterCircle Why not? Using gorechild, it seems like an almost guaranteed kill in one round of combat. You hit on 2+, wound d3 on 3+, and you even get to re roll the wounds thanks to armourbane. Would be an even trade points wise even in the unlikely chance that the death explosion gets you.

@@jellydamgood armourbane does not work on dreadnoughts, since they use T now, not armor. In first edition yes, Kharn murderfucked dreadnoughts, now you wound them on 6+ with Gorechild.
