    It's partially why I dropped my Japanese Jiu Jitsu class, that and I was driving 2 hours a day for work and driving another hour round trip for a one hour class that had 5 minutes of warmup, 5 minutes of cooldown, and then probably 30-45 minutes of actual technique training just wasn't worth my time

    What a nice combo from Plantic around 4:44. He uses 2 Chasse Frontal kicks, then a nice check left hook like Floyd Mayweather did in the Ricky Hatton fight.

    Blue Cross trains Muay Thai, look at how they kick straight out instead of chasseing, and how they finish combos with fuetes to the knee, he also checks a kick around 6:40

    Checking kicks is a pretty universal striking technique. So is the roundhouse with minimal chambering. You see those in kyokushin karate, dutch kickboxing etc etc.

    There are lots of kicks but they are based on 3 types "snaping" or Whipping, thrusting and what they translate as 'slinging" more of a straight leg action from the hips..like the crescent kick..these are "revers" (reverse or "backhand kicks most...but olso the shin kick, which i dont think we say in this fight)

    There are 3 maim types of kicks (fouetté, chassé and revers). All these 3 can be thrown low, medium or to the head. Also, chassé and revers can be frontal or lateral. The 3 of them can be spinning. And finally there is "coup de pied bas". Low kick that can be thrown either in the shin or to swipe th opponent. Altogether that's a lot of kicks.

    Muay Thai has knees, elbows, and clinching. In Savate they just punch and kick with no grappling.

    muay thai and dutch kickboxing are different in stance and tactics. DK is a perfect combination of kicks and punches while Muay Thai relies mostly on kicks and sweeps

    The art of course it's effective . The art just boxing is only good against fighters that don't train. I do like boxing but hands only I'd to limited. The art does not work against people who know how to use more then just hands.

    In kickboxing, you are barefoot and usually kick with the shin. In savate, wear shoes and have to kick with the shoe, hsin kicks are forbidden. Although one federation tolerates it (in order it let kickboxers enter the competition). In practice it makes the management of distance different.

    They're not allowed. Although they are tolerated in the fights which are labelled "savate pro". But this is not savate pro, in savate pro the fighters are shirtless.

    The shoes,the way they move around the ring in a lateral motion,they can only kick with the different parts of the foot and no where else,they tend to stay at a longer distance,the stance,they don’t have a lot of head movement,They throw and equal amount of punches and kicks in the same go so a lot of punch kick and kick punch combinations,you can catch kick with the foot,And they also tend to lean back on their kicks a lot,they are a bit more technical on average,they tend to use kicks like jabs,they move around when they kick while leaning backwards.

    Lots of French Muay Thai fighters did savate, but its a specialized form of kick-boxing and not nearly as international as Thai boxing. But lots of the old dutch fighters, Hoost and others fought and won in Savate.

    Really :-) Firstly, Saying that such a discipline is better/superior to another it's a nn sense, the strenght depends on the person not on the discipline. Then just have a look on the fight Pennachio-Dekkers two champions in their respective martial art and see what happens- :-)

    Savate, (which is not a sport), or gladiator-massacre combat. Almost free from moral and sporting ethics: almost everything is allowed, (fortunately it is forbidden by law to kill the opponent). I presume that if this were not the case, this last act would also be reached, to satisfy the sadistic-murderous instincts of some lovers of this discipline. This is my thought, just see certain clips on KZread.
