Note: The reason I used two separate plugs is so one plug connects to the chassis and one connects to the shell (wires to the headlight). This allows the engine shell and chassis to be easily separated during maintenance.

@@trainman440 Yeah! But I am not getting it now They want already 80 bucks for it bidding and it has sat on a self for 35 years and does not run so I am not getting it. But I am saving up for something even better! A lot better!

@@lackawannarailfan5206 interesting! Thosr bowser engines are beasts, with bulletproof mechanisms. So age honestly isnt a big deal, heck theyll probably outlast a persons lifetime! I do understand budget constraints though, unfortunate. Excited to see whats coming!

@@trainman440 Do you think I can get it running? I have restored a bunch of locomotives before. The seller says it has been sitting for 35 years and It has a bigger upgraded motor and says that it only needs a little TLC to get the wheels turning again. Please let me know what you think. Have a nice day!

Here's the connector pieces, in a single row: www.ebay.com/itm/1-27mm-Female-Pins-Sockets-SIL-40-Pin-Header-Single-Row-PCB-Connector-Headers/153429541943?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=453369011372&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 You can also buy them in rows of two, for connecting to 21 pin decoders: www.ebay.com/itm/1-27mm-Male-Pins-Sockets-SIL-2-x-40-Pin-Header-Double-Row-PCB-Connector-Headers/153429811526?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=453369266768&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 You can easily just split each piece to your desired length with a pair of pliers, and use some heat shrink tubing to cover the exposed wires. Good luck!

I just purchased this exact model. Not painted. Never painted a brass model before. Question for now. What did you use/purchase for a headlight lense?

Hi! I'll probably just make my own lens, using microscale kristal klear, I heard is very effective. Its basically a clear liquid type glue, which if you just form a bubble with it on any opening, will dry clear into a lens. If that wont work however, I'll just carefully cut out a piece of clear plastic and use kristal klear to glue it in place. Cheers!

@@trainman440 , cool. Have you researched how to paint brass? It looks kind of daunting.

@@gabrielperez8864 I mean, you paint them like you would any other engine. You disassemble, strip the old paint/lacquer, wash with warm soapy water to remove fingerprint oils, mask, prime, then paint. Tamiya makes great primer and masking tape, using the paint of your choice, and airbrush of your choice. Use light strokes, and multiple, thin layers. There really isnt much I can say, ultimately, the best way to learn is by practicing. I've accumulated some cheap junk loco and freight car shells to practice on once I return from college. Id recommend you also find something to practice on. Cheers!
