I just built my second shop. Its 30' x 60' with a 12'x 24' spray booth. 36 years in as a custom woodworker, i can assure you that your use of space is nothing less than outstanding. The best advice I could give you is this: Don't worry about how to improve what you have done. You will discover that all on your own. Just enjoy what you have and do what feels good in the space you have. Other people's opinions are valuable but your own opinion is what really counts. Keep up the great work! I had the exact same idea for the back wall of my shop (12' x 24'). I was going to put 3 of the same type chest along the back wall and put pegboard from the top of the tool chests up to the ceiling. I liked the idea of using drawers for storage and having the pegboard up above and with a solid work surface. But then I watched a video on how to easily make something that would have larger drawers. And that's what I really need.....large drawers. But I love the way your shop looks and the layout and how easy everything is to get to and use. You've done a fantastic job with it and should be very proud.

Great looking shop!! It's SO CLEAN!! Mine is a 12'x16' shed with one 2.5' x 2.5' window I had to cut out. Thinking of doing another for the back corner to help circulate more air. The southeast Texas heat and humidity can kill a person!! Organization is key and you nailed it! I have bumped my elbow, head, knees, back, neck,..you name it, I've banged it. Love your channel!

I really like the way you made the recessed lighting. It looks clean looking with them mounted individually in square pieces of plywood.

I have just 'discovered' workshop tours on KZread and now I want one. Let me be clear, I dont professionally work with wood or metal and I don't need a workshop but I have a toolbox, an electric drill, a small circular hand saw and a hand sander. I am about to erect a small prefabricated shed for my garden equipment. Come on, don't mock - its a start! 😂

Lovely Video clip! Forgive me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you heard about - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a great one off guide for building better sheds and woodworking without the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my close friend Aubrey after many years got astronomical success with it.

Appreciate Video! Sorry for the intrusion, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you tried - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is an awesome exclusive product for building better sheds and woodworking without the hard work. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my good mate called Gray got great success with it.

Wow, i have so much anxiety about doing mine now. Its been raining for the past few days, and not being able to get anything done is so nerve wrecking. This is the video i needed to see though! Its look so good! Keep the updates coming.

I recently found your channel. You do some nice work. I want to offer one tip that may help you. I noticed that when you glue boards together you use a wet rag to remove the glue squeeze out. A common practice. What I do that works very nicely is take sawdust and pour some on the squeezed out glue, mix it together with the glue. Then, take a putty knife or scraper and remove the mixture. It works every time and doesn't raise the grain and doesn't leave glue stains on the wood to be sanded off Good luck.

Jealous of the husky roll cabs, you America's dont know how lucky you are, for us over in the UK would need to sell our mothers to buy them. Just watched about half your videos and I really impressed keep up the good work. You've gained a subscriber 👍

Awesome job all around on your shop, looks great, organized, clean and vey usable. My small space is only 10 x 12 so you've got me beat. A little pegboard hook trick I use is plastic drywall anchors in the holes and then screws sticking out of the anchors. It's great for lightweight hooks for smaller tools, re-usable and cheap too. :)

Great looking workshop. One suggestion for the floor would be “Racedeck”. They are 12” x 12” tiles that snap together. It will offer great style to your shed and saw dust will easily be removed.

I bought black watertight tubs that are all exactly the same and each tub has all the accessories for each power tool that is in the tub. One power tool per tub. Saws have blades, sanders have sand paper, angle grinder has grinding discs and cut off wheels, etc, etc, etc.... I have 26 tubs and the tubs are labeled and all fit neatly in a large steel wall cabinet. When I need to bring tools out of the shop for a project at my cabin I simply grab the tubs I need and go. My power tools get dusted and cleaned before getting put back in the tub. My tools stay clean, dry, and secure when not in use and don’t clutter up my shop. I also use Tupperware for smaller organization.

I like how organized you have your workshop

I'm glad to see someone was able to make that deck over stuff work...I used it on my back deck and it was a nightmare to use. I never want to use that stuff again...unfortunately now that it is on there I have no choice but to use it again once the coat wears down, outside of replacing the whole deck, because it is impossible to strip evenly.

Nice shop Sam, I have a few rules I live by for shop organization; 1. ALL tools go on the walls. (Drawers are where tools go to die) I realize you are dealing with limited wall area...But your driver wall can be compacted together, especially if you get rid of all the redundant drivers. every square inch of wall should have tools on it. The massive logo is eating up vital wall space, and if you add beefy hinges to the doors, that becomes free wall space as well. The clamps you have hanging on the wall near the lathe, can be moved to hang down in front of the windows, freeing up that wall space as well. 2. All large tools are on wheels. You have that one nailed. 3. Lighting. More is Better. The only suggestion I have is; If you add a shelf above the tool wall area, as high as you can reach and still get things down. Then this will not only give some vital storage space, but also provide a place for under-shelf/recessed task lighting on your main workbench area. You might even run this shelf around the entire perimeter, except for the entry area. Storage above, lighting below. 4. Home Depot rocks.

Wow ! How nice and tidy ! Only suggestion I could come up with would be if possible add a exterior closet to relocate your dust collection and free up a little more interior space if you ever needed it ! I also like Pegboard to display tools on I got a kick out of you disclosing your JunkDrawer we all have at least one of those ! no Shame there

A nice upgrade would be a large concrete pad outside the door of your shop so you can work outside on nice days . All in all I’m very impressed with your progress....

I built a steel frame structure for my workshop and then clad it with knotty-pine walls, cause I love the wood look as well! It worked out to be a 12m x 6m x 3m high area with a 6m x 3m storage area next to it and I also made 6 large workshop tables with heavy duty coasters at the same height as my miter saw and wood saw table and yet you have somehow seemed to have so much more space than I do. Love the video and love your organizing skills and hate how incompetent I feel right now :(

Looks great and organized. I need to change my 12x18 shop around to create more space. This video will help! The only tip I would give you as a seasoned woodworker is to unplug that miter saw before you change the blade. If it were to malfunction or you press the trigger in any way while changing the blade you could wind up with a lot of stitches. ^_^ a safe shop is a happy shop. Also for the quotes and whatnot on your door, I always enjoyed Eleanor Roosevelt s "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." as well as the one from Russel Crow's Robin hood quote "Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions." Although I imagine something that pertains to building or woodworking would apply better.
