Фильм және анимация

Finally working on the airplane again. We are still in the process of replacing most of the spray system. I did accidentally order some wrong parts, but i had the new parts the next day. Thanks for watching! Please like , subscribe and click the notification bell.

@@IowaFlyingFarmer That brings up a question! If it looks like a storm capable of tearing up your plane is coming, do you ever fly it out of the path of the storm and land it at the closest out-of-path airport?

Just a suggestion, on your electrical connections where they come out of the fuselage you may want to create a cap, or false connection to put on those connectors to keep fertilizer off of the contacts while they are not in use. It will also keep any seed out of the connectors so they will go back together more easily when the booms go back on.

Fertilizer dust get into everything and as you know it corrodes the heck out of everything and little seeds will make your life miserable trying to hook those connectors back up........

Personally, 100 octane smells the best. I have a shirt that says it all "I love the smell of avgas in the morning". Jet a is close behind tho. I am biased as I grew up on agwagons and agtrucks burning 100 octane.......

Agree. Jet fuel smells good for about 10 seconds then it stinks. 😂

Hello I only just found your channel. I share your passion for farming and flying… Very interesting watching you work on the aircraft just like it’s another tractor. I would like to know how much chemical you get exposed to Ag flying? Do you smell it a lot in the plane? I used to drive a ground spray rig but I didn’t really like being exposed to that much chemical ever day.

When spraying a field, we start from the downwind side and work upwind so we really don’t get a lot of smell if we run a back to back pattern. If we work a racetrack pattern, then we can start picking up some smell. Some pilots will wear a respirator if it is a strong smelling chemical

It just hit me! Your channel name is Iowa Flying Farmer with initials I.F.F., which in military aviation parlance is technology that identifies the plane as friend or foe. If you want a patience-testing start of season, run an old round engine Ag-Cat, Air Tractor, or Thrush and start it the first time after setting up for 4 months. I think the process goes from encouraging words, to begging words, to cussin' it out.

Interesting information. And we did spend several years with the Pratt 1340 engines so I couldn’t agree with you more! 😀

I was wondering something: If you see that a storm on radar capable of damaging your hangar/plane is coming and you have enough time to do so safely, do you ever fly your plane to the nearest airport out of the storm's path and wait it out?
