If she don't mention it regularly enough she runs the risk of losing that "pass". self-mockery is such a great tool for comedy. Most of the time, if you do it correctly, people will be super willing to laugh. Almost every comedian find a topic with wich they can "safely" mock themselves. But if you dont make it a part of your identity enough, by introducing the topic asap etc. It can produce the opposite effect. People could cringe like they never did. Then I would add that poeple are inspired by things that they are surrounded/were surrounded by a lot. In her case, religion is such a huge part of your life when growing in a religious familly.

So comedians don't tell jokes anymore I see
