Mark have you ever tried? The brass crown gears had great success and they sound awesome with an aluminum pinion gear.

I have seen them on Neo cars with 1 ohm arms and strong magnets. I think they are a bit overkill for a 6 ohm level 4 magnet car. Thx

The best oil I have used is hot sauce for fishing reels and available through bass pro shops bit pricey though.

Just saying the stuff works great it doesn't sling off the gears and is made for both nylon and brass gears but like i said it is a bit pricey, and it is a synthetic oil.

What about sliding the high side on some 100 grit sand paper to try to even the magnet up in the chassis.

I figured out what the issue was, it was the magnet clip. I will explain in my next live show tomorrow morning.

Mark, I don't know if quicker engineering still makes delrin crown gears but I have two cars that still have them, one is a gplus and the other is a tyco narrow pan and both are still good after a whole season of racing and about 20 years of just sitting. Have you used gear saver spacers on your crown gears?

Yeah I have spacers on my gears, the mesh is perfect and butter smooth.

@@marksslotcargarage the differance between building and racing is you know you have built the best car you can, the reality sets in when you are racing and find out you need just a little more to stay with the competion, lol.

I would if I could, one of the guys I race with gave them to me at our last race, I don't remember where he said he got them. I do know he said they were hard to get. I will ask next time I see him.
