In Brazil I had the wonderful opportunity at the beautiful venue of Dr.ª Clélia M. Erwenne Araújo Pinto to be introduced to Working Equitation.
The wonderful Lusitano horse Ulisses Do Castanheiro was a great professor to me.
And the supervisor and veterinarian of the venue, Dr. Orpheu Ávila Jr., was so kind to guide me through the track.
The rider Luciano dos Anjos also gave me helpful instructions.
Victor Gueiros Freire translated the instructions of Luciano, thanks so much Victor!
And a B.I.G. thank you to Paula Miranda, who arranged the visit Haras do Castanheiro!

in my opinion, those kind os training should be part of a 'basic horse", after then you can be easily migrate to any equestrian sport you desire.. half track done!

The problem with lusitanos is speed, my mums Lusitano couldn't survive a cross country course , my thourobred did so wel tho!

have to disagree. They will not make a fast course, but they will survive it just fine and probably do it to their 30s if you keep at it. When I got my lusitano he didn't have 1/10th the stamina of my TB cross, however, after 2 years of training he can surpass her anyday simply because I never have to hold him back, he never wastes any energy and goes only as fast as I ask him to. Hours on end galloping up and downhill in the mountains and always he has energy to offer more! trails of up to 7h and he's always fresh. They are not fast horses, but they are incredibly resilient and easy to train, and move in a way that spares their joints like no other horse can.
