Working At Walmart - Animated Story

Ойын-сауық

Working at Walmart is like working just about any other retail job.
In all honesty if you can get past the gross parts about Walmart working at Walmart isn't too bad.
Thank you all for the support I honestly never thought this channel would grow this fast.

As a current Walmart meat/produce associate, I can 100% confirm all of this to be true. Had also been fired once (told me it was for attendance, although I was never late, called out, or left early) and rehired as well. People here will quite literally clock in and go back to their car and sleep the rest of their shift, that isn’t a lie.

Worked at walmart for 8 years. Couldn't move up because my interviewing skills sucked. Finally got out. Best thing ever. Worked in frozen dairy for so long. I never want to be cold another day in my life. Got my first actual year end review today. Closest thing I got to that at walmart was a manager that said "I don't really know you that well so I just marked you as average for everything." Back then I worked as a cart pusher at a super center that only had 1 pusher per shift unless it was a holiday. "Fun" times.

that shit about working so many different positions is unreal. i hired in as sporting goods, but near the end of my 8 months i worked there, a regular day consisted of me covering sporting goods, hardware, electronics, housewares, fabrics and crafts, and automotive, often either by myself or with maybe one or two people. that included stocking, zoning the aisles, doing item returns and helping customers. i remember one day when a coworker of mine was told to take his lunch basically an hour after he got there, bc after i clocked out he was gonna be the only employee covering the whole half of GM. another fun thing is when they scheduled me for 10 days straight between pay weeks, so not only would i be working 10 days in a row without a break, i was getting less hours on my paycheck and no OT thanks to that loophole. that occurred basically every month. i’m so fuckin happy i quit that shithole.

I worked at Walmart for over a year. I was probably the hardest worked at the store outside of the Store Lead and GM (not really that hard to do, honestly everyone is so fucking lazy). My coach counted me as not their after I clocked in, and so I pointed out. She was even happy about it too. Mrs. Ronda, if you see this, eat dirt. I was hired as a food and consumables associate, but I was the only associate over ambient food, frozen/dairy, 97 wall, pets, chemical, otc pharmacy and cosmetics, and seasonal. Most of the time, I would get pulled to work CAP2 or OGP which was ok because at least it wasn’t chemicals. I had to unload all of the palleted freight and frozen/dairy. I got mad one day and put another workers vest on the walkie stacked and raised it as high as it would go, then clocked out and went home. Only me and another person had a key at the time

I was the former lead over cap 1 (I left a few months ago because that place was crazy) our daily team duties were the usual work and stock trucks from frozen, dairy, grocery, pets, pharmacy, hba, plus capping. But besides that we were also expected to start and finish at least one of our double trucks before cap 2 arrives. Work out dept 91, and send half of the team to housewares/toys/automotive because they didn’t hire anyone else to stock those departments. Not to mention any other duties they needed extra help with which included help stock fresh departments, and collect outside carts. So I had a 10 person team spread pretty thin all day.

That part about applying for one to two positions, and then being thrown into every OTHER department made my skin crawl. I can't stand that shit! Every Sunday, I get pulled to OGP, because they're always (and I do mean ALWAYS) slumped on Sundays. I'm a dairy associate, and on Sundays, I'm the only dairy associate on the clock for the morning shift. They STILL pull me over to OGP, only to later complain that the Dairy assignments/tasks were not completed. If it weren't for the fact that Walmart's bullshit job description is so broad (i.e. the part where it says "perform the tasks that pertain to the position as well as any other tasks assigned"), I'd just say no whenever they try to pull me. But that'd just be a coaching, for some God-forsaken reason.

I worked at sam’s club before and for those who don’t know, sam’s club is owned by walmart. The good thing about sam’s club was that they had higher standard in which cleanliness was important. Maybe not as clean as costco lol but at least it looked way better than walmart. Nothing really was ever tried to get covered up and luckily the management did hire almost no lazy people. Of course there is always going to be at least one lazy person here and there but overall the team i worked with was fucking cool. After i had work there for a year, management was becoming stricter and tighter on the team and i left mainly because of the same issue that walmart has which is trying to make everything the best they can with such few associates. I was on the merchandise and stocking department on a team of 7 people. Always could never finish our tasks on time because manager kept adding and prioritizing other tasks.

I've heard a lot of nasty stuff about Walmart, about the years after Walton's descendants took over. The new owners put the company focused heavily on profit and thin margins. They have also cut hours and made it harder to get approved for health insurance. These same brutal practices you describe to me here: they are the same troubles but worse that I experienced at Amazon.

Overnight Stocker RANT: i have been doing ON Stocking for 6 months now. My coworkers are lazy af and it doesnt help that they fired all these people because of points. They dont have anyone for 2-3 departments and now they just expect me to do a 2-3 person job before 7am. Right now, i am currently transferring to Cap 2 to get my day life back while I try to find another day job. The point system is absolutely ridiculous, you call off during one holiday and you're halfway to being fired. Calling off during 1 holiday is all it takes. In my store they fired someone that has been there for 20 years because of points. Imagine giving 20 years of your life to a company and they just turn around and fire you for a dumb point system THEY created. overnights is not worth the dollar fifty extra, it is not. They keep piling on more and more stuff on us. They expect us to work overstock from the night before, the live stock that just came off the truck, they also now expect us to work the vizpick items someone else pulled out from the back, they expect us to clear the topstock carts as well oh also while doing all of this they also expect us to count and correct the onhand count of items on the shelf. On double truck nights, I get about 15-20 pallets of freight in Chemicals, guess who is expected to do all of this? Me, by myself, no help ohhh but on a slow night im expected to finish and help someone else. Sooooo let me get this straight, I get no help when I need it but I am expected to help the lazier workers? No, i want off this team.

I loved clocking in then leaving. If they needed work I would work, but sometimes there was nothing to do and I hated my job.

Currently work in online shopping and we aren’t allowed to sit down even if we somehow manage to not be busy in these terrible days. If we ever do run out of things to do, we also do other peoples jobs.

Fruits tend to rot quickly and unfortunately delivery companies don't get them on time ever. I work at a resteraunt and we have the exact same problem. We pick out the bad ones and use the good ones, it's nasty but it isn't unhealthy unfortunately.
