I literally watched it with tears in my eyes. I am also an immigrant/ Erasmus student in Germany and I desperately have to work. I am working in a restaurant as a waitress and trying to deal with a very uncommunicative and rude boss. It's becoming a huge problem with everything I do. If I do something and its wrong according to the boss, he yells at me and if I don't do that the next time- he yells at me again. It's an impossible situation to make them pleased even though the customers are very pleased with my service. I learned a little bit German enough to take orders and in complicated situations I speak English and everybody is being okay with it except my boss. LOL. Your video literally healed me and I saw I am not alone and this is not the only case. Bosses are mostly rude and egoistic, and you should not listen them- what I learned now. Being poor is so hard lol, I wish I would not have to work and ruin all my Erasmus experience. I hear you!!! and we are not alone.... Trying to survive is so ard and we are making it in a country has a language now even our 2. language but hardly 3rd one with the most complicated structure. I'm sending you a big hug❤ Thanks for making this video, really.

So many people speak English in Germany it's almost impossible to get practice. Learning a language really needs to be totally immersive to perfect it. As soon as someone realizes you speak English they auto-switch over to English. It's just how it is.

@@AlgorelXbox I second that. I live in a small-"er" town near Köln (still 100 000 people) and nobody here speaks English to me even though I'm obviously not a native speaker. That made me learn Deutsch to B2 quite fast to take my mom to the doctor for example. I'm sure that younger people speak English, but nobody switches if I start an order in German. In Berlin that didn't work, waiters switched to English as soon as they heard that I me and my friend were speaking Ukrainian to each other

If the Irish Pub has new management, that doesn’t mean the owner has changed and he still owes you the money. So how many Irish Pubs are in the oldest town in Germany? I would guess less than 2. Between the 40 euro haircut for 60 euros and this place robbing you of 20 hours of pay and tips, lots people from all over should be sending you jars of peanut butter. I’m sure it would happen if there was a way. Keep of the good work.

I think the lesson here is that you need to always have a contract, even if you just work for a day or a week. It’s import to have the papers, especially in Germany. It’s the evidence tthat can help you when you want to sue them for being wage thief. Also there’s insurance call Rechtsschutzversicherung, it’s really helpful with lawsuits.
