When Aren Salmela gets behind the wheel of his steel-caged golf cart at his after school job at a local driving range, he is under siege: golf balls driven off the turf matts are often aimed at his rumbling cart. Like many other custodial jobs, Aren's duties consist of picking up discarded items and cleaning up after customers. Yet, what other custodians are subject to patrons' attempted physical assaults?
Aren say's he's never even come close to being injured on his job and that he doesn't sweat it when he takes a liner to the cage. But should his acceptance of driving range culture be taken for granted? Maybe aiming for the man pushing the picker is harmless target practice. Or maybe it's unnecessary harassment of a guy just trying to do his job.
Either way, Aren's cage is getting rattled.

I hated being hit in the picker until our picker broke, and we had to pick the range clean 5 days in a row, and we had to hand pick balls while driving around in golf carts, and they would still aim at us

Ben Cooper they made you pick up while people were hitting?
I can hit the ball retriever at the range more often than I can hit greens in regulation. If the greens moved I bet I would hit more of them.
Atleast you have a cage, one at my range doesn't so it closes the driving range effectively

Put some WD -40 to stop the nois
dude everyone tries to hit the driver. I only do it now if they're 150 yards or more away. it just looks too intentional if they're closer lol
I just got a job like this and I love it!!
how much u get paid an hour
I hated emptying the picker and hooking it up. Otherwise that was the best job.
