    I use the mono a lot. The only thing I miss on it is different steplengths per track. Hopefully in a future OS update Elektron will add this feature..

    Not sure if this is perfect for live stage performance, but definitely a powerful machine for studio compositions and years worth of explorations. Great demo and tutorial. Very much considering this now.

    Funny that he presents the track at the beginning of the video like the goal to reach when in fact they recorded his "hello this is the track we are going to make today" after it was done. Tricky Elektron 😁

    Individual track lengths would be very nice :) I've owned a monomachine since 2005 :) first a mk1 and when it came out I got me a mk2 :) Love the machine, one of the few synths that hasnt been sold after a couple of months (I had 40+ synths the past 15 years ;) )

    I always thought it was a real shame the monomachine couldn't load one shot drum samples for the DDBOX machine would have opened the possibilities so much. It would have been Elektrons stand alone groovebox. Also taking the joystick from the keyboard version and putting it on this version would have been great also :)

  • @aikighost

    @aikighost

    Jenna Fox Lol, the octatrack might be overkill for just for loading a PCM drum kit :) I've already got an MPC1000. I just thought it would be a nice feature for the Monomachine to make it into a fully specified stand alone groovebox. I know why they don't do it though, Elektron have a policy of hobbling each machine they make in some way in order to engender a pokemon style "gotta catch em all" attitude in their userbase. So far this policy seems to have worked on many.

    do all the drum sounds count as one track ? as it sounds like its more than 6 note poly .

  • @johnk6312

    @johnk6312

    7 жыл бұрын

    yea i've since found that, trouble is you have to use it over at least three tracks otherwise layering is not possible and i'm guessing if you use it in poly mode you are gonna still use up most of the polyphony that's needed for separate drums stacked on top of each other and its only six note poly.unless i'm missing something? cheers!

    yea your right it looks like very clever programming technique on this video.meantime, on this machine 3 tracks is turning out to be plenty for drums but i think i have a way to go before i can work at this fellas speed ;)

    can this do more than just house and techno? can more organic harmonies be created? every video i can find has a very similar techno vibe and im curious if it can be versatile and make pads and experimental noise

    Josh Cocomise perfect for experimental noise. the problem isn't the machine, its the dullards who use it who only know how to make 4/4 techno.

    Herr Absurd good to hear, i think i want to buy one because i love synthesis but im being discouraged by people making it look like it can only create these overdone techno/house sounds. im really on the fence.

    For impatient people who lack discipline to practice a real instrument... ease of use for mindless expressionless electronic beats of droned musical abandonment.. Overrated, overpriced, for today’s button pushers....who want it now..sense of accomplishment with little effort..

  • @ModulerDrone

    Wow, completely right in a skewed way... yet totally misguided. Like with any instrument you have to play it for it to actually sing. To reach your inner voice, you do have to put in the hours like with everything else
