Anders Holm liked every sneaker you like now 20 years ago. The Workaholics co-creator talks here about his long footwear history-from getting an early pair of Air Jordan 6s as a kid to watching the Three Stripes Posse in high school to getting free Reeboks during his time in college. Holm waxes poetic on sneaker trends that have come and gone, and how he was there for it all. Sambas, Salomons, New Balances, Holm had them all. He even met Virgil Abloh in college, between getting caught up in an NCAA sneaker scandal. I love when the guests actually know about sneakers. This was such a good listen
The show was fantastic. It was mind-boggling to witness Welty's initial hostility and strong inclination towards gatekeeping, only to completely reverse his stance and advocate for sneaker reselling shops. It seems that the significance of sneaker culture and the sense of community surrounding it only matters until it directly impacts one's own personal interests.
Who remembers the Samba Millennium edition? I was a huge fan of them, were my go to kicks till i couldn't find em anymore. Love to see a retro of them.
My favorite episode yet, Anders was a great guest, grew up watching Workaholics with my brother and never knew he was into sneaker
I'm five years older than Anders and he is of my era and described it much the way I would. He is legit and definitely was outside. Another great episode, please don't end this season. You guys got real momentum.

been a fan of Anders since I learned he swam D1! Glad to see him on the show.
I agree with Welty, The Balvin AJ3 is his best one. I was with Ander's growing up, if somebody copped a pair, you were off limits to cop the same pair or else you would get caught biting lol.
I have never felt closer to theses guys until the soccer shoe talk. I remember the Kelme and Lanzera wave. We Had Kelme jerseys my Senior year, but nothing was better than the Lotto Stadios. Copas were a very close second.
That was one of the most enjoyable podcasts in awhile, loved it!

My weirdest workaholics sneaker memory. It was like 2011 maybe 10... I was in a local platos closet looking for deals. Some Workaholics Lakai caught my eye and looked genuinely cool to me. Being the sneaker snob I am I left them on the shelf, and grabbed the adidas Handball in blue and neon green. I made the right choice but missed out on a seldom seen shoe not many even remember.
Haven't even watched yet but this is quite the unexpected guest 😂

NB has always been good with that crowd. Smaller New Jersey Band Saves the Day album Through Being Cool. Dudes wearing a vintage Nike shirt on NB on the cover. Even back then it was iconic. Always been a sneaker nerd. Weezer green album got me into dunks waaay before most. 2001.

My sneaker habits are very in line with the guest. Im from New England... we never liked wearing the same thing as everyone. I still rock Rod Lavers (you cant even find them in the OG colorway.)since everyone is rocking NB I dont wear mine nearly as much anymore. And I mentioned earlier I purchased some Adidas Handball over Workaholics Lakai in a Platos closet over a decade ago. The handball from adidas is nothing more than a Samba in different colors. Funny how it all comes full circle😊

28:26 bro, that’s how we were with our mates. If someone got air max 1 in red, no one got the same pair. You had to get a different pair.
