Work done in deforming a body with Longitudinal Strain

In this video in Hindi it is explained how much work is to be done to provide longitudinal strain to a body. The total work done is equal to the half of the force times the change in length. And the work done per unit volume of the object is equal to the half of the longitudinal stress times the longitudinal strain. Longitudinal stress is force applied longitudinally over the surface area of the plane on which the force applies. Longitudinal strain is change in length per unit length.
