Thank the author of the channel for making this beautiful and useful video for us! Many people are embarrassed to speak a foreign language if they have no speaking skills. People are afraid to hear criticism from others in their address. It all comes from having a psychological complex - to make a mistake. But, after all, he who does nothing is not wrong! In Yuriy Ivantsiv's workshop "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign language" states that we need to talk as much as possible: with yourself, with the mirror, with inanimate objects, with children and with pets. Find an interlocutor in real life or online. Talk without shyness. People won't care how you speak. They understand that you are a foreigner, as long as they understand you. They may even acknowledge your progress in their language and compliment you. However, always be prepared for criticism of your speaking skills. If you have the will to speak, you will gain an interesting interlocutor to consolidate your knowledge. Everyone is strewn with mistakes - don't be afraid to learn from them. As the Latin wisdom says, "walk and thou shalt not go astray". In the book "Polyglot Notes" by Yuriy Ivantsiv an entire chapter is devoted to the development of spoken language. Here you will find many useful tips and each student can choose a technique that suits him or her best! I wish you all the best of luck in your language learning!

A good lesson! Its this as medical profession one supose to meet swedish citycens.. mayby in there moste critical way! The first way is always to get on to study swedish, learn words, sentence and a bit gramar. Swedish is a Germanic languge, so english speaking persons dont have that difficult to learn. And then it comes to pronuncing, listen to swedish TV.. its normal swedish, or Stockholm swedish, dont bother with dialects, worste case they think you is frome Stockholm.. our capital city!

Hiya! ^_^ I’m a UK doctor considering moving, but I would ideally want to go to Göteborg because that’s where my partner would be able to work. How do you go about trying to specify that you want to work in a certain area of Sweden when you first arrive?

I would start by googling different language centers that offer a long term language course (8-9 months) and applying to Migrationsverket for a study visa to come here and learn language physically.

Hi! May I ask whereabouts you work in Sweden? I imagine finding a job in a Stockholm hospital is quite competitive - is this so? Also, is finding housing an issue there? Tack så mycket!

TheMouseyS Hi! Stockholm is definitely one of the more competitive areas to find a job and housing. Overall this is a shortage of finding housing in Sweden especially if you’re looking for a firsthand rent contract. But it’s definitely possible that you find the housing you desire in a short period of time. I recommend you start looking Before coming to Sweden. Wish you all the best!

There's a major shortage of people in the healthcare profession overall, so finding a job shouldn't be that difficult - especially not in the north and other less populated areas. In the major cities; maybe. Finding an apartment to rent will be difficult - especially in Stockholm - and even if you do, it'll be expensive.

How did you first come to Sweden? I mean as a tourist visa and then applied for language course or how? I’m specifically coming from India and we need a visa to enter Sweden, as admissions from many language courses organizations are not eligible for applying visa or residence permit, so my question is should I apply for tourist visa for studying language or you have any guidance?
