Hope you feel better soon prayers and best wishes for your physical and mental health. Health problems really suck and dealing with the insurance companies and all the doctors is even worse. I have been trying to cope with them for half my life and they are bigger headaches than the health problems almost. Good luck and honestly the best relief I have found for both the physical and especially the mental pain and agony and stress and frustration has been good music like Ween. Good luck and I hope everything gets better.

Ever since that Matt Sweeny "Guitar Moves" series, I've hoped for something more from the shack. Like, it just seems like such a cool place to hang out.

I got my son a Deaner cameo for Christmas. He was so sweet and kind. This man has a solid gold heart.

As a medical professional I agree with what Dean says. Taking simple steps to take of yourself makes a HUGE difference in quality of life. Great advice.

Its kinda crazy its easy to have something happen and say "welp my day is ruined" you dont gotta wait till tomorrow for things to be better!

This is why Deaner is my favorite lead guitar player ever! This guy is the shit folks! Rarely do we get a guitar god that's been around since the 80s , consumed the amounts of drugs he has done and still be normal enough to function on this level. Deaner is a real person not fake fuck not stuck on himself. This guy is genuine and truly a good hearted soul. Normal everyday guy that has been touched by the guitar gods and lucky enough to make it to the bigs. To make my favorite guitar player the candidate has to have more than skills at the fretboard they need to be genuine and a good person. Dean Ween #1

My boyfriend sent me this this morning. I'm waking up at 4pm (early for me). Been suffering from Lyme disease almost a decade. Maybe longer. Possibly 2 decades. I've had serious issues/disabilities for so long now. I'm finally choosing to stop giving up. Chronic illness is extremely difficult to deal with when you're mentally ill. 😕 Hang in there guys. 🙏 lyme disease is my big test. It's a test to see if I really want to live. & I decided I do want to live. You have to believe you will get better. You have to want to live. I will beat this. If you're reading this & also suffering from chronic lyme... please don't give up. If I am still here & still fighting, then I think anyone can.

I don't have Lyme, but my chronic disorder has tested my will SO MUCH. Even the last couple days have had those moments of, "Should I really keep trying? Caring? Should I just have no standards, go numb, and let all the f'in chips fall as they may?" Along with my chronic health disorder, I am an alcoholic in recovery, so if I let the chips fall, it could get soooo ugly. But my disorder tempts me and tests me and I find myself on the ledge so much that I just get so tired.... thank you for your candor, your encouragement, because from the way you put it I can tell you know exactly the hell I feel a lot of the time, even though we have different disorders. May God, Goddess, Angels, and Dean Ween help us keep the faith in ourselves. Sending you so much love and respect.

I am not invalidating your illness whatsoever (I've had Lyme disease) but chronic Lyme is not real. Post treatment syndrome is, but anyone talking about "chronic lyme" is most likely seeking to separate you from your money, even some unscrupulous real physicians. Watch Rebecca Watson's video on chronic lyme scams for a brief overview.

@@crackthefoundation_ I'm a nurse and from Wisconsin where lymes is rampant. Not a conspiracy as you claim. Chronic lymes is extremely real and I've seen people with severe disabilities. It is a corkscrew shape organism that goes dormant but can reside deep in the marrow. No one is making money off this. That's a load of shit

I've been recovering from Babesiosis, a tick borne disease that left me unable to get out of bed for months. It damn near killed me. Yes! If you have undiagnosed neurolgical symptoms, have a history of tick exposure and have the ability to acquire IGENEX testing, I would suggest it. Diagnosis and treatment are possible, but most regular physicians said that I was fine or mentally ill. Their doubt about broke me. Damnit Deaner, I know that this is over a year old, but I hope that you are doing better. Thank you to whoever posted this.

Keep an eye out for the little miracles most def! I was super depressed one day rode my bike passed this random fat dude in swim trunks when it was super cold out he was practicing martial arts with numb chucks by himself on the river. Way inspiring. Just do your thing. You know...

They’re BOTH really down to earth. I hung out with Mickey and Aaron back in 02-03’ cause they used to come to Athens, GA which is a big music town (REM, B-52’s, Widespread Panic, etc all discovered in Athens) there’s a venue called “the 40 watt” which was perfect size for them back then (before their shows started reeking of patchouly oil) and they would just park their tour bus there for days, so me and a friend got of half onion of Dank (pot was still very much illegal everywhere) and We ended up smoking half the satchel and having a DEEP discussion of The Allman Bros. And how Dickey Betts is a legend on the guit-fiddle (redneck for guitar). True story! We didn’t have digital cameras in our pockets, so back then you just asked for autographs. They even let me come back that next morning before they went up the coast and Deaner (Mickey. The guy in the video) signed my 94’ Stratocaster. It’s an American made FatStrat which just means it has a dual-coil pickup by the bridge for screaming tones. They were so easy to talk to. They would shut down any kind of ego stroking. Then the hippies came. Phish covered “Roses are free”, and the hippies started coming to shows en mass. (Search for a song called “hippie smell”. That’s what it’s about. The patchouly oil stench that suddenly appeared at their shows, (per Gene & Dean Ween)

We discussed the hippie influx on their bus though, and the aroma they brought. Maybe I’m not remembering it exactly. The records in question were only 3 years apart (The Oneness 91 and C&C in 94’) Also, freedom of 76’ was written WAY before C&C was released, cause they played it on a talk show. I’m probably missing something. Maybe they were making a joke? Regardless, I got to chill with them on their bus at “the 40 watt” in Athens GA, and I honestly don’t need you to sign off on that. (No offense intended, hopefully none taken)

felt like yesterday watching a local broadcast station called "the box". people would call in and request music videos. Push th' little daisies played frequently on it and I enjoyed every second of it. After all these years, I regret never fully exploring Ween's full body of work until a few years ago.

It’s true your mind can choose anything. When you’re in a bad cycle you’re choosing to be in it. You can’t control the bad thoughts but you can control hanging onto them and exercising them in your head over and over and choosing to be in a chronic bad state and cycle. So when the bad thoughts and feelings come just let them do their thing and then choose to not let them take you over. We can choose our habits and cycles that makes temporary pain into chronic pain . Temporary pain can’t be avoided

@@chichifroglegsboognish1434 The book "Letting Go" by Hawkins helped me understand that. But I think it's obvious by just observing experientially or other people. I know a woman who has chronic bad thoughts about everything and it's sad and aggravating to watch. I think the important aspect of this knowledge is knowing that negative thoughts and feelings can't be avoided, no matter if you are a saint. The choice is letting them take you over. So it's not all about positive thinking, it's just about not falling into negative thinking. Which I think is a much easier thing to conceptualize instead of thinking you have to be positive all the time.

I'll always appreciate that tour poster Ween put out in early 2021 for their Capitol Theater show in Port Chester NY. It was George Washington and Abraham Lincoln as dead ghouls. It let me know someone else knew about the scam going on at that time.
