Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use.

Fair Use
Additionally, the fair use defense to copyright infringement was codified for the first time in section 107 of the 1976 Act. Fair use was not a novel proposition in 1976, however, as federal courts had been using a common law form of the doctrine since the 1840s (an English version of fair use appeared much earlier). The Act codified this common law doctrine with little modification. Under section 107, the fair use of a copyrighted work is not copyright infringement, even if such use technically violates section 106. While fair use explicitly applies to use of copyrighted work for criticism, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, or research purposes, the defense is not limited to these areas. The Act gives four factors to be considered to determine whether a particular use is a fair use:
the purpose and character of the use (commercial or educational, transformative or reproductive);
the nature of the copyrighted work (fictional or factual, the degree of creativity);
the amount and substantiality of the portion of the original work used; and
the effect of the use upon the market (or potential market) for the original work.
The Act was later amended to extend the fair use defense to unpublished works...... Download totally free vpn with 99 servers for andriod ---

    As a Woody Allen fan of numerous decades this was the first time I came to hear exactly why he rejected some movies that were highly acclaimed by critics. He did not feel that he accomplished his vision. His life advice about never ordering the guacamole special at the Polish restaurant is profound. It reminds me of my uncle Sid's famous quote, never judge a sausage by the strawberry on the label. Things are not always as they are advertised and expectation is the mother of all disappointment.

    2023,.....Ok so this dropped in 2017,.....Not a problem,.....so glad to have found this interview. Like many, I'm a fan of 95% of what Woody has done. I love to hear him talk. I get it, Woody!....I hate all the newer technology. My smart phone is too smart for me,.....I wish I could go back to my very basic dumb phone. Reluctently I'm on Face Book,.....I use it, but not like most people. I post things barely once a year,.....and I hate the running "news" feed, as it is designed to be a form of "click bait". I feel we are on the same level. I never enjoyed most amusement park rides. I liked the boring things, like the Penny Arcade. And that old fashioned game called Skee-Ball,.....which has made sort of come back, in 2019,.....some taverns have installed them, to entertain their patrons. Also,...a new variation on an old game called Duck Pins,......a variation on bowling,....with balls the size of grapefruits,....and quite tiny "pins",....about half the size of regular bowling pins. I did enjoy "the fun house",...and a motorway with gas engine powered cars.....that drove about 20MPH. And Dodge-em,.....the cars powered by electricity , where your goal is to smash into other drivers,.....back in the 50s through the 1970s,....this was pretty tame. I enjoyed all the horrible food sold at the amusement parks,.....as it wasn't available anywhere else,....my city never had county fairs. Later when I moved closer to a rural area,.....I finally could attend county fairs. Me and my gal,.... we were healthy and thin,....and we'd eat every sort of decadent confection and tons of greasy foods and mysterious meats. Funnel Cakes, elephant ears, deep fried pickles, cotton candy, salt water taffy,....ice creams and custards. We spent most of our money on that horrible food. Until one day,...when we were about 50 years old,.....I suggested we spend our money at a real restaurant. Instead of eating at the outdoors, fly infested, stinking of barn animals,.....state fair. Ha!

    I find it hard to believe that he mentions "Match Point" and "Midnight Paris" which he refers as "The French One" a better film than Annie Hall, and not Manhattan or Hannah and her Sisters or Crimes and Misdemeanors (one of his best films). I hate those city films, any good director could have made those delightful films. He lost his touch, age does that. I still love him though. I can listen to him all night long.

    He's a talented, interesting man, but what he & Soon Yi did to Mia Farrow & her family was wicked. There were thousands of women in the world he could have hooked up with & he set his sights on his partner's young daughter. And this after how many years of analysis?
