I explain the details in this video: • MY PARTNER COMPANIES -...
I want to let you know that I cooperate with a couple of tool companies. Occasionally, they provide me with some of their tools for me to use in the shop.
But: Whenever you see me using a tool it means that I like it and think it’s worth using. When I do a review, I tell you my honest opinion.
I want to be transparent about these partnerships, however, so that you’re not kept in the dark and can make up your own mind if you think I’m in fact unbiased or not.
My partner companies are: Bessey, Kreg, Maschinenhandel Meyer, Triton, Bosch Professional, PNZ Produkte (as of 04/2020)

    G’day Andreas, thanks for the really helpful video, lots of very good ideas. I’m using the isolation period to re-organise my workshop. When you do get a mitre saw I can highly recommend the Bosch GCM 12 GDL. Judging by your other power tools, Bosch blue is preferred anyway. Just one thing; when you get your saw try and restrain yourself from installing it immediately before making the dust collection set-up to accompany it. The saw is brilliant but as other reviews will tell you it’s shortfall is in dust collection. By the way I’m impressed by the cleanliness of your workshop, do you do a big clean up before filming or are you naturally tidy?

  • @holzhandwerk_ak

    Thanks for your feedback and your tips. Indeed, that Bosch mitre saw is the one on my wish list 😉 . I’ll keep it in mind about the dust collection. And: I didn’t clean the shop before filming this and, so far, I haven’t thought of myself as naturally tidy but I gladly accept that label 😉. Stay safe.

    Thanks for the shop tour Andreas! Got some very good ideas from it... Do you still like your drill press/stand? I don't have alot of space and I really like the idea of the Wabeco. Cheers and keep up the good work!

    Thanks for the feedback. I still like it, but sometimes I think a real drill press might be a good upgrade - but so far, the pressure hasn’t been high enough. It works well and hasn’t given me any trouble beside a little play here and there.

    @@holzhandwerk_akThanks for your reply! I've been considering buying the Wabeco for a very long time. I would prefer a Drill Press, but a good machine goes for a lot of money... So I keep coming back to the Wabeco as a good budget solution. Thanks for your feedback again! Cheers

    Hi Andreas! Really liked the video, it's neat seeing how other people organize stuff and what they've come up with. I'm in the process of building a shop in my backyard and I'm still not exactly sure of the dimensions I want it to be. I'm just doing this as a hobby, so no need for something big. The shop you have seems just about the right size. Would you mind telling me the dimensions of the building itself in meters? Thanks in advance and keep the videos coming if you can!

    Hallo Andreas!

  • @holzhandwerk_ak

    @holzhandwerk_ak

    Ich bin noch damit zufrieden, er hat ein klein wenig Spiel, aber nichts, das wirklich dramatisch wäre. Hin und wieder denke ich darüber nach, eine Standbohrmaschine zu kaufen, aber da es keinen wirklichen Grund gibt, hab ich es bisher noch nicht gemacht. Außerdem ist die Flexibilität halt super - auch wenn man es selten braucht, ist es klasse zu wissen, dass man z.B. horizontal bohren kann etc.

    Der KZreadkanal von Maschinenhandel Meyer bietet ein Viedeo zur Einstellung Deiner Record Power an. Die DVD, die zum Lieferumfang gehört ist auch recht gut und dann noch das Buch von Guido Henn zu stationären Maschinen (Bandsäge und Bohrmaschine) sehr empfehlenswert. Was bei meiner Record Power den durchschlagenden Erfolg brachte, war das Ersetzen des originalen Sägebandes durch ein Hema Barracuda Band. Die Ergebnisse waren danach ein Traum. Bandsägen sin nun mal echte Diven.

    Danke für die Tipps. Das Video von Maschinenhandel Meyer habe ich schon zwei Mal angeschaut -seither ist die Schnittqualität zumindest annehmbar, wenn auch noch lange nicht so, wie ich sie gerne hätte. Ich habe eigentlich schon gute Bänder drauf (zumindest habe ich einen Satz Extrabänder dazu gekauft, die mir Sven Meyer empfohlen hat). Das Buch von Guido Henn habe ich seit Kurzem hier liegen -das ist nun mein nächster Schritt. Danke nochmal!

    The Wood whisperer made a good video on setting up the bandsaw if this helps you with yours. Aslo The bandsaw clinic with Alex snodgrass is a very informative video on how to setup the bandsaw plus tips etc. I believe the channel is Thewoodworkingshows ( all one word no spaces!!). Good luck and hopefully these can help you 💯% 👍🇬🇧.

    Thanks for your tips. I’ve watched that bandsaw clinic several times, however - his tips are different from almost everybody else’s and I haven’t been able to put them to good use. I’m slowly getting better at it, though. One important aspect was that I had to learn to put more tension on the blade than I previously thought ok.
