Great work. Don’t mess with switching out the stem. You have enough spalting in the base. Beautiful piece. Brilliant technique.

Very nicely done William, I am delighted to see someone else using a continental, especially with the wings which makes the tool very versatile. In my opinion you can get nearly as good a cut with a continental as you get with a skew. Shay

Love them! I've made a couple of mini candlesticks, but failed miserably when trying to match them LOL! They're fun to turn. I really liked this design, I might have a go at it when I get the right bits of wood. I rather liked the plainer top with the spalted base. That little bit of pencil marking just tied it in. I was urging you to change your mind when you said you were going to do another spindle! The spalting looks like marble.

The only place I know of is the carpentry store in nass, but buying blanks can be expensive, try to find local tree surgeons they sometimes be happy to give some wood away for a turned bowl or two, Kind regards From Will 🙂
