Hello Ashley. I have been a wood worker for 40 years. Lately I have spent more time in my metal working shop. Now I have my first grandchild on the way and am excited about woodworking again. I really enjoyed your video on this rattle and your clear calm presentation. It is nice to see a younger person getting excited about the craft.
Never thought I'd find a video on making a baby rattle so interesting but I did. Every single part of this video can be applied to so many projects. Thank you Ashley for all of your wonderful videos☺
I love that design. It's all about process and product.
Absolutely excellent! You make it all look so easy. Thank you!
I've got a couple of nieces and/or nephews due later this year and this sounds like a great gift. Thanks for the idea and the video!
What a beautiful piece!
So adorable Ashley, love this!
Very nice! What a great model for production-line rattle assembly. And, at the same time, learning a few other ideas that can be applied to other items. Definitely worth watching!
you never cease to amaze us. Awesome video
Really enjoy watching Ashley’s videos - great smile, gentle voice, and wonderful technique. Her teaching is bright and shiny with no condescension. A true pleasure of education prowess.
Perfect timing for this video! My wife and I just found out we're expecting. I was just looking for some different ways to turn a rattle or two. Thank you!
Great work Ashley the rattles look wonderful.
That looks great. Nice gift idea.

Thank you Ashley! You have given me some good inspiration to make a rattle for my soon to be nephew
That was wonderful, always so enjoyable watching you create something out of nothing
Love the video and going to have to try this one out. Always look forward to your video
Lovely stuff Ash Wood.
I am sorry, but this is absolute magic !!!! Stunning control and concentration. For us from the 60's, the only thing to say is cool dude, that is boss.
Hello Ashley. Recently starting watching your videos and absolutely love the work you do. The massive walnut table, the rattles, the sea urchin ornaments ... some simple and some complex. A good mix and you make it seem so effortless. Your breakdown and videos are clean and professional. Not a lot of chit chat or background music. If I may compliment you to ..... a beautiful lady.
Thanks for the idea. I mostly turn pens. Turned a couple of rattles this morning. Learned some new skills with this process.
unique idea, love them
beautiful project by a talented lady
Very creative. Love it.
Thanks for showing this very nice work as always
As usual I really enjoyed watching you work. Always a pleasure, no matter what you are doing. Keith here, 65, Hickory NC.

Totally agree! Love the batch turning technique and the rubber tubing on the pen jaws!
Very nice production. Love the music.
Those are so cute Ashley. BTW.. I love the design on your wall. I'll be keeping this video for ideas.
Another great video. Thanks for sharing.
Interesting way of making them. Have made a few baby rattle but never thought of doing them this way. About to make one for a friend's baby. So think I'll try your way. Have a nice weekend.
Great project! Thanks
Beautiful job.
Too cute!
Holy balls you are a beautiful wood turner. Thank you for being such a skilled worker and taking the time to show us all.
Hi Ashley, Happy New Year to you! Another great video!! Love you, Cheers Stoney...
One year later and you have made one for yourself! Congratulations and warm welcome to your future new family member!
Long time fan love your work
When I saw the Still photo in the preview, I was like, "What ? Ashley is wearing a Sparkling shirt ?" - should have known it was really wood chips !! As always, absolutely Beautiful piece ! Thank you.
Awesome project.
Lovely project 👍🏼
It's more than beautiful Thank you very much
Love your way of doing these. I have made several myself but never use the chuck so I had 2 nubs that needed sanding. I will try your method. I
Fascinating!
I really like the choice of wood used, it's very beautiful! you can do whatever you want, even geisha balls or whatever ....
That's awesome great job
This is a great idea!
You are very talented, a beatiful smille!
Beautiful little project! Those massive C clamps are great. Harbor Freight has some long throat ones cheap. I love your tools. I can only dream.
Very nice Ashley. I made a bunch of rattles about 20 years ago that were very similar to yours. I used similar construction but the rattles were navy beans. I believe yours are proportioned a bit better than mine though. Thank you for sharing. Have a great 2021 and stay healthy.
That came out great! I made a rattle when my best friend had his kid (out of cherry from a tree in my parents yard in Vermont that he helped me cut down), except I split a block, drilled some holes in the split faces for the rattles, then glued it back together. You can’t even see the seams! I definitely broke thru once and had to redo 😇
One pretty baby rattle made by one pretty lady!!!. As always 💯% 👍🇬🇧.
Nice job!
Like the video, one of your best The pin jaws with rubber is a great idea.
Bravó Eszter! Mindig lenyűgöz mikor látom ahogy eggyé válsz a fával! 👍🏻
Wow,. Ashley Harwood., You are good idea and awesome project .
I like the contrast of your finished product Ashley-I do also like the plan itself :"How it is made" baby rattle By Ashley-well done! :-)
Aprecio mucho su trabajo. Muy delicado. Felicitaciones!!!
I’ve turned a couple of baby rattles. Both were in a lidded box style. I’m looking forward to trying to make a few like this.
Many thanks for this beautiful video, greetings from us in Holland🌷🌷
Happy New year
Looks interesting!
I tend to find myself watching your hands more than anything in your videos while turning. I find that we focus so much on tool presentation that we (I) neglect hand placement, and you do a wonderful job of modeling proper hand positioning.

Agreed. I was stuck by how relaxed her hands were when doing the bead cuts.
At first I thought your shirt had some kind of design. Then I realized it was wood chips.

Same. Ashley wearing a black dress with a gold stars pattern? 😅
Great content - my closest friend has just announced his wife is 12-weeks pregnant, so very much looking forward to presenting them with one of these :)
Ashley, a 3" paint roller works excellently to achieve the .0002 optimum glue thickness. It can be stored in a Ziploc and left in a cold place, even a fridge. No need to worry 'bout glue dropping on the beads.
Beautiful work, as always~! :-)
Nice video Ashley
Beautiful project. I have a small lathe and been only turning pens. But was thinking about making 1 of these since my wife and I are going to be grandparents
Great Video!
hadn't even heard of a vortex tool, Cindy Drozda thankfully had the info i needed
Une beauté avec un gros tour a bois😍. je craque🥰
I can see from the finished product why you decided to thin the walnut a little. Great job!
Love 💕 your video
Es muy bonito!!!
Happy New Year. Great job. Un abraso de tejas
Looks great! I love Mahoney's, I tend to steer away from it for items intended for infants/toddlers though. I'm not sure how much of a concern it really is, but nut allergies are common in little kids and I don't know how much of a reaction they might get from a walnut oil finish, so generally I steer toward just a mineral oil. It might need a touch up more often, but I know there's no risk of an allergic reaction
Not in any wierd way, but...I do love watching you make stuff, the processes are very cool. I am trying to start doing this stuff myself. So I am VERY interested.
You do some great projects
You’re work is as amazing and beautiful as you are
