Woodturning - Flower Box

Welcome to today's woodturning project! Some time ago I made a bowl using sticks arranged as a flower, which turned out pretty good. I applied the same technique in this project and made a lidded box, but unfortunately the color didn't turn out as well as I expected. There were also small holes in the resin around the flowers, which I had to fill in afterwards. However I hope you enjoy the video.

If someone had explained to me 30 years ago that buying woodworking tools for my Love as a gift would have meant a lifetime of such beautiful gifts for me I would have bought my first piece on our 1 month anniversary. I love gifts like this box.

That's amazing. I don't think I've seen one like this yet, and I certainly watched too many woodworking videos during lockdown.

As I binge watch these wood turning videos, I am in awe of the talent and creativity. I can't wait to start with my little mushrooms again :-) if I got only half this good, I'd be happy!

I think that the crimson resin is a perfect counterpoint to the flower motif. This is lovely.

These wood turning videos have inspired me. So many beautiful creations. When the pandemic is over I’ll start learning lathe work and making my own turned wood. I am a member of a local craft place with machines of all sorts. I never thought of doing lathe work until now...can’t wait!

I usually hate that sparkle resin dye (it makes it look kind of cheap and plasticky) but it looks really nice here! It's a good color and the flowers help break it up
