Woodturning | Firewood to Cash - Thin Wall Apple Vase

In this video I turn a thin walled vase from a piece of apple from the firewood pile. The walls are between 3-4MM thick and the vase is just over 6" tall. This was a fun and easy project with free wood. I hope you enjoy the video, thank you to all who watch!

Not sure why, but this vase appeals to me more than most vases I've seen made. Maybe because it was from what could simply be a log from the firewood pile.

How do your projects, made out of a full branch like that, not crack as they dry? Even being super old and dried out it seems they would crack later after being turned. Seems like water would always be trapped in there. Unless they are kiln dried.
