Great project. I’ve made a handful of these spatulas, and they sell pretty good at craft fairs. There is one company here in Michigan that makes a chuck to hold the blank more secure in the lathe, Rubber Chucky is the name of the company. I’ve used the chuck for those spatulas, and they work great. There’s also some videos of the Detroit Area Woodturners using the chucks and turning some spatulas. I am a member of that club.

I've made a "ton" of wood spatulas of different shapes but the same principle. One will get really good at making them very fast so you can sell them at a low price point. They alone always pay my entry fee for shows. Good vid, Lee
