Very nice work and clear explanation, sir👍 In particular, I appreciated the use of multilayered Milliput to simulate marble nuances, stunning! With just a bit darker turquoise and a more scattered and stretched black, the outcome could easily resemble the Italian Carrara Marble, a very renowned marble type of ours. Keep up your good work 😉

@@JimsonMakes As a rule I always try and use tenons. Just stronger. I would be surprised if the tenon would snap. Only seen it on split wood. Where would us woodturner be without a "design modification" or two, or three, etc
@JimsonMakes

Exactly👍🏼👍🏼
Very creative idea for the vase. Looks really nice! I have been turning Sapele a lot lately. Got some kiln dried blanks at a good price. It turns out gorgeous and have you noticed the wonderful scent it puts off while turning? My wife loves when I walk by while turning sapele.
@JimsonMakes
5 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much Tom. I love the way Sapele looks once turned but I don’t particularly enjoy turning it, I have developed a bit of a sensitivity to the dust over the past few years. I think I now associate the smell of it with sneezing and itching. Kiln dried Sapele tends to be very dusty to work with as you will have found. Cheers Jim
@tomcowsert8962
5 жыл бұрын
@@JimsonMakes I definitely get some sneezing, but haven't had any itching problems from it. You are correct, though. Quite dusty. I wear a respirator while turning. My face shield and glasses get coated with the dust in minutes making it quite the pain. Constantly wiping that off so I can see what I am doing.
