Thanks for the terrific video Mike! I learned a lot from it, especially how you hollowed the cup of the goblet. Your teaching style is so clear, calm and deliberate. A real joy to watch. Thanks again! Lou

I went back and looked up one of your captive ring videos and see you have a real store bought ring tool. After looking at the profile of your tool I think I will refine mine and grind a larger captive ring on the other end of my tool. One I can cut larger rings on a baby rattle since I make a couple of those a year for friends and family. I will probably continue to just stick it in the PVC handle. Low tech but seems to work.

Yeah, mine is a 3520-A. That may have been what actually happened. We had a typical North Texas thunderstorm, but I'm not certain that is what caused it. Anyway, better safe than sorry, so I flip the breaker when I'm done for the day. Love your videos. Thanks for taking the time.

Very nice Mike...! Well done. I've been using the cat's claw parting tool you showed how to make. It works great for the captive rings.....! May you and your loved ones have a great safe day....!

Mike, I always struggle when sanding a goblet or vase were you do not want to put your fingers. I notice you had made some kind of tool for this. For your next tips you might show how you sand in places that that are hard to get to.

Boy do I know how expensive that is when you get a surge through that PowerMatic. I flip the breaker on mine NOW!

Mine is 10 years old and I understand that around 10 -12 years the VFDs start to fail on their own. I would rather mine die of old age!
