    I have owned this stove for a few months and have had it out in my hot tent at least a dozen times and I can say that it`s an excellent stove.Warping is expected due to the level of heat generated but this is no problem as reassembly of the stove makes it true again.You are going to enjoy this stove a lot. I've got the same one and have used it over a dozen times ... absolutely love it. I also use it as a mini fire pit out camping not putting the top on and just a grill. More then adequate for a hot tent in my Lavvu ... I don't take the long wood storage cage as it cuts down on the weight. You mentioned the hinge mine has not failed yet 👍... and alway guy the stove pipe down. Enjoy your Toy.

    I’ve been using a collapsible titanium stove for years. Unsupported it does seem like there as lot of leverage on the chimney pipe. But in normal use it’s support comes from the tents stove jack and guying it out with the spark arrestor to the existing tent pegs really locks it all down. You’ve got a nice stove there, folding plus all the little extra bits. Perfect mate. 🤙

    Your a lucky man to receive such a brilliant gift. This piece of kit is not cheap, for the price I would like to see the base of the chimney being more safely anchored to the stove. Also, when the stove is placed inside a tent there may be a possibility of smoke leaking from the base of the chimney. Other than that, this is an amazing piece of kit Dan. Thank you for sharing this vid with us and I look forward to your hot tent review.

    There appears to be no seals anywhere on this stove, not least into the chimney pipe. Please be careful about falling asleep with this still going in the tent. Carbon monoxide alarms wouldn't go amiss here! I'm going from what would be required on a narrowboat, pipes and stove tend to have some sort of seal. Tents are small spaces. Maybe worth discussing at least. Good video, loved the hippy jumper

    Cracking present. Been using this stove for a couple of camps now and really pleased with it. Only thing I would have done differently would have been 2 burns at home. Because the flue goes into shape really easily at the burnt purple end but less so at the spark arrester end. Once I reversed it and burnt both ends it now rolls really easily out on a camp. Hope you enjoy using it. All the best in 2022 buddy.

    Hey Dan, I suggested this stove a few vids back based on me watching another channel. I bought one but not burned it in yet. Tip: I bought a metal toilet brush holder for £2. Just to use the tin part, and the stove pipe, rings, and stove attachment fit inside it. Spark arrester sorta sits on end bit. Then pack into bag. I was gonna keep the cardboard tube that came in bag, but, go brush tin same size but lighter.

Hope this helps. N Joy mate

  • @chachirumbles7986
    @chachirumbles79862 жыл бұрын

    She burns fast! I just burned mine in and found that this stove, because of gaps between the walls and "floor" of the stove, allows air flow that isn't controllable. The result is a faster burn that I can't dial down, even with the door damper fully closed. Air can flow through gaps between the floor and front/back panels. First, this results in smoke leaking out of the stove when I close the chimney damper. This is also an issue when I want a slow, persistent fire. But, for overnight, that's what I want. I'm going to try to plug these gaps with fireplace glass insulator rope or tape and see if this helps. Just a test, we'll see. I'm hoping to get a slower burn to avoid having to feed the stove constantly overnight.

    What a cracking present :) I would definitely guy that flue when you use it though as there isn't much weight at the bottom and the length of the flue will put a lot of leverage on it, you can see just from this video that it's slightly twisting the top panel, I think a lot of that warping may be down to it being twisted while heated, to keep it from tipping too maybe peg it down? be interesting to see it in a hot tent as it's got loads of surface area to radiate the heat, good to see you happy and enjoying it :) hope you have a good new year and looking forwards to more videos :) ps, where's the steak?

    Luxury stove, may seem pricey for the stove, but then you save on not having to buy such good sleeping bag. You can get a little tube of High Temperature Silicone Gasket Maker and run a bead around that chimney connection, it would sort out that gap, to make sure the waste gases are all going out the tent. could do with a metal tube the right size to roll the chimney around, so you dont have to aim for an ending size but start with the correct roll

    Nice looking stove & thanks for the unboxing / 1st burn video. Not too sure if its the stove for me, looks a little too flimsy for my liking but the weight / packability s a definite winner / advantage so its always going to be a compromise one way or another. What's with all the white stuff on the ground? Very mild down souf this Winter :) One thing with packing away would it be possible to open the door and stuff the rings and other bits into the void beneath the door? Have fun with the stove and looking forward the full review.

    Are you looking for a new home for your old stove now Dan. Please keep me in mind I'd love to restore it in my spare time but don't have much of that in the ambulance service at the minute but I could get it looking like new. Happy Christmas mate.

    I kind of like the design. I'm concerned about the stovepipe. Those grooves holding the pipe aren't really substantial enough for me. Make sure you have mitts in case the stovepipe comes off in wind gusts. I look forward to seeing how the stove works for you in the future.
