Joe I always enjoy your video all the time you take to explain all you do. I check about everyday to see what you all are doing. at 70 I wish I had the energy you have and also have a grandson that would come over to help me May the Lord bless you family. My Timberking 1220 sets more than it runs, due to the fact that it's all manel like yours. and no help, But I love it.. and Carmine done a good job on those shirts. here in Knoxville tn hot and sticky T-storms every afternoon.

Gary Wolfenbarger I hear the hot and sticky, i wish it was 55 with a nice breeze lol. Thank you very much for commenting, I hope i can continue with this sawing it is hard sometimes but like you I love it. Having the backhoe makes loading easy. Like you know then comes all the stacking. That get tough on hot days. I just love being outside. Have a good one.

I cut cedar 2x6s the same way for a guy's deck. Three 6" wide cants at a time. Every pass of the saw head was $30. $800 in an afternoon! Your saw still looks like it may only have two hours on it! Great machine!

I was watching your video about the cedar shakes, I was wondering why you want to cut with the grain, I found that the grain will rise when the wood shakes dry on the building and still divert the water. Just saying. We have been praying for rain for you guys.

Thanks, Joe. We're looking at mid to upper 90s through next Sunday. Miserable. The real reason I wanted to try this was, If it worked, I could put 20+ cants on the deck at one time instead of 7 or 8. One of my viewers emailed me today a really great idea that I'm going to look into. Still high production but sawing against the grain.

Between yesterday and today we got two inches of rain, driveway is washed out again so that will be my next project when the rain finally stops. Poor Carmine! Our next heavy rain day is Wednesday. I devised a water collection system with two barrels on a tower next to my wife's greenhouse to collect water off the greenhouse roof. One barrel is on top of the other and when they are full they drain into a large plastic garbage pail with a cover. As of today, all three are completely full. Like I said before, though... we need the rain for the garden and the greenhouse.

I should have done it months ago, especially since it's been so dry. Glad I finally got to it. I had problems modifying the barrel bung holes to accept the plumbing that I used, without spending the money to buy the actual fittings. I got it to work though. I have one drip from one of the bungs but that's because I didn't use enough Teflon tape when I put it on. I'll fix it once the barrel is empty in the fall. I think I'll do an over-flow from the third barrel to a soaker hose, that will eliminate the extra water without making a mess.

I have a Woodland Mills bandsaw mill, with a great quality product for the money. They are a smaller Canadian company with excellent long term customer support. The set up is a bit different than the saw in this video..just as all brands & models are. (Being most designs are patented/protected for competitive legal purposes)My mill has the versatility to operate from either side of the track, which i have set up so the sawdust exhausts on the opposite side of my working/walking side.(much cleaner, safer, and convenient set up, in my opinion. Dont have dust thrown in your face, and not forced to walking thru a pile). However, Woodmizer does make a very good product as well..just a bit expensive in my opinion. Pro's and con's for all of them really.
