Woodland Mills Showroom Tour from the Co-Founders Themselves!

Ойын-сауық

Days like today are pretty exciting for me. After years of running Woodland Mills equipment on my woodlot doing all kinds of chores including chipping wood and sawing lumber, today is finally the day I get to see much of the equipment I have only seen on the computer in person. I'm touring the new Woodland Mills showroom in Port Perry Ontario today with some very knowledgable tour guides. In fact, there probably isn't anyone else that is more knowledgable about Woodland Mills equipment than these two as my tour guides are the founders of the Woodland Mills company and avid sawyers themselves. Josh and Neil are showing me around the showroom today and talking about the equipment currently available. We will also get a sneak peak at the new Woodland Mills electric up and down saw-head accessory that is soon-to-be released to the public. This I'm excited for. Glad you're all here for the tour! Here we go!

I bought a stump grinder from Woodland Mills and I love that thing. There were issues with the original shipper and the girls in the office there worked with me to get it fixed. They were great. I’ve been watching you and others for over a year now and I finally ordered a mill! It’s my first mill ever. I’m so excited about getting it. I have been wasting a lot of good wood by making it into firewood. I can’t wait to utilize it better!

Bought the stump grinder. Quality piece of equipment. Removed 18 old pine stumps In my yard with my Kubota BX26. One was huge. Some were fat lightered in the middle. No issues. Love it. Such a great addition to my tractor. Now I want a mill due to the quality of the grinder.

Hey Sandy, I have thoroughly enjoyed your videos since discovering your channel a couple years ago. After finding your "Comparing Portable Sawmills" video on youtube, then researching Woodland Mills along with many other manufacturers, I decided on the Max 130. Before watching your videos, I had never heard of Woodland Mills. In the year that I’ve owned my mill, I’ve found it to be an excellently engineered machine and I love making my own lumber with it. I hope Woodland Mills has thanked you ($$$) for the great videos you make about their products, and I thank you for sharing your adventures with the world! Best Regards, Vin in Montana

Good morning buddy how are you? Wow what a great opportunity to see woodland mills up front and personal! They make some really great products. A buddy up the road just got the Hm 130 max woodlander xl. What a fantastic mill simple to run, maintain, and operate. For what they cost I believe the woodland mills sawmill is the best bang for your buck on the market today. I hope to get their sharpener setter combo soon. I’m going through blade quickly and their combo will save me money in the long run. As always buddy I’m grateful for all you share. You are our sawmill Guru. God bless you and yours.

Great video, Sandy! It is so interesting that you uploaded this just now. I will be ordering my HM130 Max in a couple of weeks. Have to make sure that I am home from travel to receive it. I have to say, I have run the full gamut of Investigating sawmills and manufacturers. Woodland Mills is, by far, the best experience I have had pre purchase. They have been immediately available, answering every one of my detailed questions satisfactorily. I cannot wait to purchase from them. They put the other manufacturers to shame on the customer service end. Great company in my opinion!

When I was shopping for a sawmill it came down to 2 brands, mostly due to cost. Norwood or Woodlandmills? I chose Woodlandmills because of Sandy’s videos of how he uses his mill, and how he provided so much information of setup and troubleshooting. He has done a great job marketing for woodlandmills and I hope he continues to get rewarded for his videos that he produces. I bought an HM130max with xl trailer because of his helpful/entertaining content! Thank you Sandy for taking the time to make videos!

I too have had issues turning 1000+ pound logs(about 16 foot long by 20+ inch diameter)...but came up with a simplistic cheap way to do it. I had an old bumper jack that cars used to have. I added a chain with just the actual cant hook attached to it. The jack base is placed on the metal rails with the cant hook wrapped underneath the log. I simply jack it up and the log rolls easily around. A high-lift jack could also be used instead if need be. I will most likely add a way to set the jack bottom into a recess of some sort so that there won't be the worry of the jack possibly sliding off...but so far it never has even come close to doing so.

@@bigcampnewyork3586 Thinking about it a bit more and I may do this. If I add another square log stop pocket on the opposite side of what is provided, I could use the hand winch that I made that emulates what Woodland Mills has to pull the logs onto the mill(with the ramp system). I could easily use that to turn the logs in much the same way as I use now but with the winch instead of the jack. This would be something that Woodland Mills could also easily add to their accessories that could be purchased. EDIT: I just looked at the Logosol accessory. The existing Woodland Mills' winch/ramp system will work with just the cant hook added to the winch hook already present(duh on my part! lol). I will try this next time as very simple for anyone to add to their mill. BTW, with large logs, I use the ramps as a safety feature by placing them inverted on top of the closer rail and on the ground under the far rail...if the log rolls back it will hit the ramp stops causing the opposite end to stop under the far rail and the curved part of the ramp(which is now upwards) and the slight angle of the straight part of the ramp to prevent the log from rolling off the mill towards you....which has happened one time so far and worked beautifully!

The vast majority of Woodland Mills products are manufactured offshore to their designs and specifications. Note that many other sawmill companies also source some or all of their product and/or many of their components offshore. (Yes, even the orange American company uses some offshore components - which is why they advertise “Built in the USA”, not MADE in the USA.)
